what is so different in there scheme that other teams can't copy? I can see one RB getting a 1000 yds but like you said 4 different RB's and each did it.

 

They run a "zone-blocking scheme" that only asks a RB to make one decision - one cut - and then hit the hole. It was Kubiak's scheme, and he taught it well. The scheme works, and all the OL have been doing it for a long time. Note that the production took a hit when Kubiak departed for Houston this season...

 

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if they turn around in a few years and trade him for another player, that seems to be what they like to do, bring an average/above average RB in, make him look great, and trade him for a very high-caliber player at another position, it's how they got Champ Bailey from the Skins, half their d-line from the Browns, and this year Dre Bly from the Lions. Although, the success of Portis in Washington and Droughns in Cleveland do make you think part of it does have to do with their scouting, but to be able to have a different RB every year get 1000 yards kinda points to the system as a major cause.

 

It was Kubiak's system in Denver that allowed the plug-n-play. When he was there you'd never see them sign someone like Henry, and this signing shows that those days where they could just put anyone in there are near an end.

 

so, when is Kubiak going to implement his o-line system in Houston?

 

The way they let Henry walk kind of leads me to believe that the Titans front office and coaching staff may regard Lendale a little more highly than any of us have anticipated.
