What year are you talking about? Billy has a history af whispering to Drew and then calling him off when it doesn't work. Don't think Drew just calls up gm's on his own.

I believe Fisher when he says Volek had approched the brass many times about a trade. Billy got his trade and he's just enough of a punk to pop off about it. Volek just wanted to turn the knife to try to hurt us, as if his loser 'tude hasn't enough already. Billy was pissed I bet that we drafted Young in the first place. Then last spring when other washed up vets were coming in, he was all girly man about that too. Had to be. That is what it all adds up to. Fisher would not make outright lies like some of you will have us believe. Fisher is smarter than that and he knows that would only make the state of affairs for the Titans that much worse. Billy on the other hand isn't harming his new team by being a weasle. In Billys immature mind, he feels as if he has flipped the script, or for some of you older gentlemen reading this, put the shoe on the other foot. This is all about some revenge for Billy, for being overlooked as he sees it, under rated and passed over. This is Billy's chance to passive aggressively take out his frustration through the media. And he knows it stings Fisher on a personal level because Fisher went to bat for him to get this done. What many of you don't realize is that Jeff Fisher made Billy Volek. Billy Volek was a nobody. Fisher did Billy a service by getting him that job in San Diego after all he has done for him over the years. Fisher has been betrayed by someone that feels they no longer need him. Volek should be thanking Fisher in the media in the same fashion he did in private. All of this says that Volek is a B%$#!.

I corrected myself in another thread.

But you gotta ask yourself...when Steve came back last year, just how long would you expect Billy to wait for a job to open up? 6 years is a long time in football life.

Screw Fisher...I'd be looking for another job too. I probably would have started in 04.

Volek was an undrafted free agent who beat out Kevin Daft and was luckly to become the #2 after NOD left. He was paid well to run practice while McNair was gimpy and hold a clip board on Sunday.

He was limited the day he entered the league and remains so today. Few guys with his talent and skill make what he has in the league. When he's selling insurance this time next year, you can bet he'll be wishing he'd handled a few things differently when he had the chance.

Yeah, I saw that... still looks like Billy is crying for a trade at every turn.. must be a major distraction when it looks like he's going to be the guy and the coach can't get our then current qb (#9) to stay
wait for a job to open up? Are you serious? Billy was never anything beyond a backup to us. On draft day we clearly stated Billy is not our guy.
And he was unsuccessful in that job hunt. It went on man. Trust me. Volek could not do any better than backup here and he wasn't going to leave when he was a sternum injury away from being the guy. Volek just isn't good enough to be a starter and that is why he is not a starter to this day. If you can't start for the Titans, than you just plain suck. That is hard logic to argue with, do you not agree? :wink2:

Volek ? This is all Jeff Fisher's fault Volek should be the starting QB. All Fisher has done is make bad decsions.

At least we get to play the lowly FISH with there statue of a QB Daunte Culpepper and thier 15 carry Running Back Ronnie Brown.

Thats BS that Volek was lucky about anything. He didn't get his shot by being lucky. The coaching staff had 6 years to evaluate him and if his ability wasn't adequate as a backup they could have replaced him numerous times and didn't. Obviously they had confidence in Volek during his years as the #2.

If the coaches thought he was "limited" then why wasn't Collins or someone else brought in as soon as Mac left? Volek has an 87 QB rating for his career and although I agree he might not be star material for the last few years their have been a number of QBs starting in this league that were no better and maybe worse. If the Titans had the same defense in 2004 that they had in previous years Billy would have looked more like Drew Brees and we would have won a bunch of games with him as our QB. Now after the guy is gone I guess we have to keep piling on. Where was Jeff and others talking about him being limited when camp started? If Heimerdinger was still the OC Billy, limited and all would be our starting QB right now and certainly there is no way in hades he would look nearly as bad as the crap we have seen the last two weeks.

One more thing. The record is right in front of everyone to see. Forget the inuendo and guessing game. This team stinks, big time. We don't just lose we look real bad in doing so. Any other team in the same situation would have fingers pointed squarely on the coaching staff and GM and not on a single player. Use Billy as your scapegoat all you want but watch how good this team is now that he is gone.

Billy is gone. He's on a winner now. Yay for him.

That said, I PINE to see the Chargers lose. I needed a reason to root against them, & now I have it.

    Phooey on Volek.

He's a cold hearted snake, look into his eyes. Ohh ohh, he's been tellin' lies.
