    Ive connected some dots, Rams QB coach Greg Olson was on the 2012 Jags with Mularkey, he might be a possible hire as OC for next year... hes been an OC twice before, so he has the experience for the job...

    Heres a possible argument. Not saying its what I think should be done, so dont go getting all critical;

    • Fire Robiskie and hand the keys to Mularkey for the final 3 games
    • If the offence doesnt change at all, you know Mularkey was just as much the problem as Robiskie was. Fire him in the offseason if you were thinking about it but weren't quite sure. If it improves, some questions about Mularkey are answered.
    I guess im putting myself in the head of the owner/GM with the above.

    But he WAS an OC twice before. If he was good why did he get fired twice? Sorry, I'm just not into the whole retread coach carousel.

    This year, the reasoning is that things really couldn't get any worse. The scheme blows, but maybe someone else would be able to do a better job of working with what they have, being less predictable, calling fewer plays that the WRs aren't comfortable with, not constantly trying to barrel through 9 man fronts, etc.

    Everyone knows a completely new system should be in place, but we're also aware it will be tough to fire Mularkey, so a new OC who can run his own system is the best we can hope for.

    Given the amount of talent. No. Do I really have to rattle all of the stats off to you? Not just scoring and yards, but TOP, turnovers , 3rd down conversions, # of plays run, 1st downs, QB rating, etc. We are all in the bottom half of the league with the likes of teams such as the Browns. Our only stats which are respectable are the rushing stats, and we all know how we feel about the running game.

    First play from scrimmage we run right-not a toss but a handoff. We lose 4 yards. Now with 100 plays to choose from, on second down, we run the same exact play. I wish I had turned the game off then. We needed a few yards on third down several times. I don't believe there is a LB in this league that can stop Henry one on one in space with a flare pass. I am certain he could get 3-20 yards. We may never know.

    This scheme is 100% Mularkey's. Thing is, the Titans were great in the redzone, third down %, etc. last season.

    So how can we blame Mularkey's scheme or Robiskie's playcalling 100% for this sputtering offense?

    I don't think we can. The players are not executing as well as last year. You have to consider injury/regression of Mariota, the OL (especially the interior) not getting it done in run blocking and Murray who seems to have lost a step.

    You can add to the mix that the majority of passing targets Mariota has are new to the team. Chemistry takes time/experience.

    There's plenty of blame to share. I don't think firing Robiskie does a thing as long as Mariota plays poorly or Mularkey is the HC.

    Honestly, it probably wouldn't do anything except make me a little excited for a game since week 4.

    But the apathy would probably kick back in right after the first 3 and out.

    This is a common trend with Mularkeys offense. So yes whether its fair or not I'm 100% putting the blame on him for setting us up for failure in the first place.
