That was my thought last night when the int happened, Davis just sat and MM8 threw to a spot he expected Davis would be at. Hope they both learn and grow together.

fuuuuck you Orlovsky. Maybe Marcus shouldn't have stared down Davis the entire route, and while he's staring at him he should've noticed that Sensabaugh had his inside cut off and not thrown the ball there. This should be retweeted for hundreds of WRs to call bullsht.

Collinsworth was on the money when he said one of MM's issues is how fidgety he gets in the pocket at the slightest sign of pressure, and how he has a tendency to always try to bounce outside of the pocket when he can just step in the pocket, avoid the pressure and make a play. Hopefully that's something can be fixed with more experience.

This was the same issue with Rodgers when Jordy went down in 2015. It means your passing attack has been exposed. You lose confidence that any receiver will be open, and hear footsteps because you're holding onto the ball for a longer period of time. Rodgers turned on God mode at the end of 2016 and never went back, so let's hope our QB does the same.

Yeah that was one of the things I liked when he was dealing with his hamstring injury. Instead of running outside of the pocket he would just step up and throw the ball. Peyton wasn't running outside of the pocket, he would move around inside the pocket and avoid getting hit and make passes.

Even when he steps in the pockett it seems as if he chooses the wrong direction to step in and get hit.

Maybe he should spend his offseason working with Rodgers rather than Rivers.

Agreed. Right before the ball was thrown, you can see Davis begin his transition up the field since the CB was crashing down and left the back end of the field uncovered. Mariota made a bad decision. If you think this was on Davis, you're a retard.

It was on both of them, IMO. Yes Davis should have come back more and didn't finish his route, but Mariota also terribly telegraphed the throw as well. It was almost like a 50/50 ball and Davis lost.

As bad as he looked in the game, Marcus might played his best period of ball in the first part of the third. He was able to shake off what he did in the first half and immediately find Matthews for the td. The next series out, he found Walker in a similar play down the middle. On that same drive, had Delanie not dropped the pass, he would have had one more td to his game total and one if not two less interceptions.

It's hard to say where his game would have went if the team had followed suit with better play. But there is no question, he had a tough game. And I can recall one play, by viewing it on sky cam, had he threw the ball in front of the receiver instead of behind him. In which the defender knocked it down. The receiver probably would have took it for multiple yards if not a td.

As I said in another post, dynamics are everything. Had Delanie Walker caught that td. Had the defense come out in third ready to play in third. Would we be discussing how disappointing Marcus was? I believe if they were within 7 points with the ball in his hands in the final two minutes. He would have led the team down the field for a score like he has shown in multiple games this year.

This thread is Jared Cook, Justin Hunter, Kenny Britt, DGB all over again lol. People defend the WR and hate the qb
