If I may....lol. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to wonder if he is overrated. He definitely swung and missed on Dodd, and we all wondered “Austin who?”...I think Henry was a steal when we got him, and he has proven himself enough to be a starter. Taywan Taylor balls out when given opportunities and he was a 3rd rounder...solid pick. I loved the Conk pick, dude is a pro bowler. Byard has been awesome, Wallace, Brown, Sims, all showing potential. As is Jonnu. I definitely agree that Davis was likely the best WR to choose from, however, Adams probably should have been the pick, or Lattimore, considering how bad our Defense is. That said, Jrob was bound and determined to give Mariota “his guy”. So that said, I think he has done more good than bad. The draft is a crapshoot. We definitely are being run better than we were under Ruston Webster.

Adoree played pretty well last night but also consider how far off our DBs play and the cushion we were giving them. I doubt Lattimore would have made a difference.
Look at McCourty in Cleveland now.

Yeah Gunny, good call on Adoree, I forgot to mention him as well. I agree with the playing off WR’s too. I was saying that in Shoutbox last night. It’s crazy how much room they give. I think the bigger concern is PASS RUSH and ILB. We are really having issues there.

Yeah on offense that would be a broken play. On defense it could be considered a broken play if a corner doesnt do what hes supposed to. Not gonna argue semantics. Regardless it wasn't that impressive of a throw. The dude was wide open. What I was impressed with was that Mariota showed some leadership I haven't seen from him before. He jumped up in front of spain and pushed him away!!

Here's the thing I've said over & over..... JRob has NO CONTROL of the HC. Strunk is the one that controls the HC. Part of him getting the job was he had to agree to accept Mularkey. So while we can complain about some questionable draft selections & bad FA signings; the HC is not something we can lay at the feet of the GM. That is all on the controlling owner & Lorax (Steve Underwood).

I do not buy into the hype of JRob as many have. I still think he has a lot to prove here as GM. I am not saying he is a bad GM or cannot turn things around. He has done some good things; and some questionable things. We have ignored the defense far too much IMO. We have a long way to go before we will have a good defense. We need badly to invest heavily in defense through the draft & FA. Until we do that; it will shock me if we make the playoffs w/ this coaching staff. This old school type of ball control offense NEEDS a good defense to bail it out. Right now we do not have the talent on defense to do that IMO. We have average to below average players scattered out on the defense.

BTW do you know when the last time the Titans used a 1st round pick on defense (Besides Adoree Jackson)?
2010 Derrick Morgan before that 2007 Michelle Griffin.....

Check out our past draft picks. Back in the days when we were regularly competitive; we were spending 1st round picks on defense every other year at least. We really need to get back to investing in the defense. We have plenty invested in the offense. We need to build a real defense to be able to compete IMO.

Look at it this way, JR has no excuse to not go almost all defense in the 18 draft.

Yeah but honestly, J Rob did have atleast what 5-7 picks in the first and 2nd picks?

You’d totally have to suck so BAD to miss all those picks, considering all those picks he had at his disposal.

Dunno about that. Jon Rob came into the perfect situation. With a franchise QB & franchise LT. And a #1 pick at his disposal to go ahead and trade that pick for more.

I did not like Webster, but to be fair he had some good offseason signings. We were consistently a 6-8 win under him, really just never had a top pick for him to work for.
