Cyprien Injury

It seems like many teams addressed their needs at Safety by not signing a run stopping LB. Namely, Cyprien's former team who decided to move on from his trash self.

There were many options, and I'm still not sold he's any better than Daimon Stafford. In fact, I'm certain that Stafford is better in coverage That's how bad Cyprien is.

 

Cyp sucks when he's not going full throttle on a blitz, but let's not kid around here, Stafford was horrendous in space.

If Cyp isn't an upgrade it's at the very least an even swap but with a faster player from Stafford...

 

You'd think abc2330 would be happy I chose my bad luck avi on a guy who doesn't play lol, it's not like I chose a starter/backup or even special teams player lmfao. I basically picked a guy on the practice squad, does Dudd even travel?

 

The 3rd or 4th play OAK ran on their opening drive where Lynch motions out wide right Cyp is covering the shallows, Oak floods the zone Cyp is in and he doesn't do squat to influence the play...

I wish he would have turned a little with the TE to disguise his real assignment and bait the QB to check down. But nope. He's not savy like that. But he is faster than most and does his job better than Stafford/Searcy.

 

The thing I said all the time last year about Searcy was "has anyone seen him make a play", but it wasn't because he was flat out missing them like Cyp on Sunday. He was getting abused. Searcy at least was invisible, not a glaring albatross.

 

2-0 with Cyprien out of the lineup.

 

We gave up more points yesterday than we did to a great Oakland offense.

 

I wish we would have made a run at Jefferson. Cyprien is garbage. He was garbage in Jacksonville and he'll be garbage here.

 

I'd seriously toy with the idea of Cyp seeing time at ILB at the expense of Avery Williamson.

 

Church has looked alright from what I've seen.
