I'm expecting Nashville at some point to be at total gridlock. Cars not moving at all on the interstate or secondary roads. Excellent planning Nashville. In the end it all really comes down to greed. Lets build a whole bunch of residential space with 0 thought to infrastructure.

Oh and I've been in that Atlanta traffic, and fortunately for Nashville their backups on the interstates are relatively short when compared to Atlanta's. You can see the backups on 75 coming into the south side of Atlanta around the airport for MILES. Surprised people down there don't off themselves or die from their nervous breakdowns in that traffic.

worst bar strip in america? what? horrific music? have you ever actually been in Robert's?

has nothing to offer people who live in the city? i live in east nashville. i'm downtown all the time. concerts at bridgestone and ryman, preds games, dinner, printer's alley. it's more than easy enough to just not walk down broadway.

is our infrastructure bad? yeah. traffic is horrible. city grew super fast. i'd still rather live in a congested city that's bustling and full of things to do than the dump that nashville was even 15 years ago. would you rather lower broad return to the days of strip clubs and hookers? or at the turn of the decade when it was just cars cruising and playing loud music with nothing to do other than a couple of crappy clubs like graham central?

people ***** about this city so much, but i don't think they remember how little there used to be to do around town.

I have lived downtown for 7 years. Love having everything close by....Nissan Stadium, Bridgestone, Ascend....it has been a blast. You take the good with the bad. Bachelorette parties, pedal taverns, etc.... but the traffic IS getting out of control. There are times when I want to tell the people who come to my neighborhood to eat and drink (out of towners AND locals)....."enjoy...welcome...have fun....but please remember, some of us actually live here".

As though the only two options for the area are a seedy dump and Hick Vegas.

Vegas is what Vegas has always been. But you bring up tax revenues that are paid by the tourists and not by the locals. I have a handful of friends who live/have liven in Vegas. The tax money doesn't mean squat. It's generated by the strip properties and the Fremont Street area, and most of it is poured right back into those areas. Traffic is a nightmare, the schools stink, and the quality of life isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I like that Nashville continues to grow. I don't like that an area that an area of town that had its own genuine (and lucrative) identity had no problem ditching those who made it successful for tourists who don't give a flip about it. Yeah, there's money, but is it worth the trade-off?

as someone who has lived in LV part time --- traffic in LV is>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> way better than Nashville.

You can go anywhere in LV and not have to take LV blvd to get there.

quality of life is what you make of it. you take the good with the bad anywhere...

    except LA

Los Angeles might be the worst city in America. places around LA county are nice but LA itself is cesspool and nastiness

they complain about no NFL in LA... then they get 2 teams and no one shows up
