It would be more intelligent not to "exaggerate" others viewpoints to the point of misrepresentation. All you reference is the negative. If you read more thoroughly and represented more accurately, you'd better understand what others are saying. Instead, you focus on a singular point you find objectionable and then exaggerate and extrapolate that into a completely different viewpoint.

I've been very clear with my problem with Dodd at #33. It is a valuable pick that is expected to produce in order to be successful in rebuilding a team. Not an average, but an above average team- so it doesn't matter that x number of #33 picks by other teams bust.

The point that's been made is that if we expect to be above average, we've got to hit on premium picks at an above average rate. There were better picks on the board IMO. Dodd hasn't produced much. #33 picks are expected to produce. Hope Dodd does. But it's been my experience if a player hasn't at least flashed some greatness at some point thought two training camps, preseasons and some regular season games, he isn't likely to be anything more than situational depth. And that's something that could have been had with a much less valuable draft pick.

I'm not hating on Dodd or JRob. I'm just keeping it real when I see player or personnel love blinding folks to accountability. This franchise has been a big part of my son's and my life. NOTHING would please me more than to see Dodd have a 10 sack season and see the Titans win it all. I'm sure every other "whiner" you reference feels the same. So check your blind Dodd and JRob love at the door before you start casting aspersions on others views. You'll find you won't misrepresent so bad and your own views will be more well received.

    To recap:

    #33 pick is important.
Everybody else on this board would have selected somebody better.
Jrob needs to cut bait now or offer himself as a sacrifice to the football God's.

I forgive JRob! Listen, it isn't like he swung and missed on a place kicker or a Bishop Sankey at #33. He went for a pass rusher which is important and they go early. Like it or not, I remember that draft very well, and Dodd was a projected 1st rounder. Now, I'm not saying the dude won't suck...It isn't looking pretty, but hopefully he knocks the rust off and turns it around. I can't fault JRob for wanting to beef up our front 7 and pass rush though. We could have and we have done much worse.

If everyone truly wants Dodd to succeed, why don't they all back off and give him time instead of insulting him after every preseason snap he takes? Or giving him an immature, derogatory nickname? It's because that is crap and you know it. If you all are just the types to slam a player week after week, only to completely change your attitude about them when they turn it around, then you are no fan. You're a douchebag.

Dodd was a projected late 1st round pick. It definitely wasn't a reach.

I'll admit I scratched my head a little because I saw him as a 4-3 DE but I wasn't surprised we went pass rush with #33. We badly needed depth.

I'm still rooting for him to turn it around this year.

I think you fail to get my point that 5th/6th OLBs are core special teamers. Dudd does not do special teams work because he's a friggin DE. How many times do you see DEs covering kicks/punts? He has diminishing value, at a spot on the roster where he needs to be able to do more.

So you love all of our players and would take them over any other players in the league, right?

If you want people to only be ra ra cheerleaders, you're in the wrong place. We try to discuss all things Titans from the stadium to the fans to the players, coaches, gm's, etc. Discussion turns into debate. Some people make very good points and others don't. Some come here with an open mind and learn something...and others think they know it all. Which are you?

It's fine to challenge others opinions and debate whatever you want within the rules of this site. Challenging people's right to voice an opinion is problematic and voicing your challenge by simple name calling is weak and won't win you many arguments here.

Have you never criticized a player, coach or GM?

I think everyone besides JRob saw him as a 4-3 DE which is why he should NOT have been a 1st rounder on our board and really should have been a 3rd rounder for us since Projecting him to 3-4 OLB is difficult and him being a subpackage interior rusher ala Klug doesn't get you picked in rounds 1 or 2.

I'm rooting for him, but he has a long way to go and it will be interesting to see how long JRob stays with him or whether Dodd potentially gets cut if he's being outplayed by others right now.

I want Dudd to succeed, because it will be best for the Titans. I'm not a player fan, I care about the Titans. You take this conversation about Dudd and many other players way too personal. Why do you defend players with zero track record so vehemently?

Did you like Michelle Griffin? Is that too derogatory for you?

@abc2330 remember when you wrote this gem? Title was "New QB 2018 Jake browning" or something of that sort. I especially loved this line "I don't usually stick my neck out for any player based on their potential NFL play" Seemed a bit premature on mariota, don't you think so?
