Dude shut the **** up now. Who the hell are you? Someone that became a fan of the Titans when we drafted Mariota? 11 comments and 9 of them are talking about about my reaction of Jackson not looking that fast on the punt return.

It's my opinion that I said Jackson isn't as fast as what some people claim. You're acting like I said he's slow or something.

    Move the hell on.

Defenses are normally ahead of offenses at this time and clearly we are trying to create a great offense (trying to get the passing game equal to our run game). With Mariota having so much time off and new guys in the passing game, think they want to get the offense clicking. On the other hand, I'm with you that the defense should get more reps! Even a pre-season game is better 'training' than practice though from what I've read...Mularkey liked how our D looked in practice vs the Panthers so he took that into consideration.

Again, I don't agree with it, but clearly that is what he's thinking.

    Not in any order
    Bob Hayes
    Willie Gault
    DeSean Jackson
    Darrell Green
    Renaldo Nehemiah
    Bo Jackson
    Champ Bailey
    Cliff Branch
    Devin Hester
    Randy Moss
    Michael Vick
    Chris Johnson
    Trindon Holliday
    Deion Sanders
    John Ross

All of the above are low 4.3 or faster guys. MOST importantly, is that their timed speed translated onto the football field. There are other guys who ran 4.2 40's who aren't as fast on the field.

And the term elite seems to be where you all are arguing. To some, elite speed is 4.4 since that is fast for a wr/db. But there is a big difference between a Mariani running a 4.48 and a John Ross running a 4.22. So to people like me, ELITE speed is when you're in the above company.

Adoree is fast, but not quite that fast. But there is a LOT more to this game than speed. Just ask Jerry Rice who supposedly ran a 4.59 (according to Walsh though the internet claims 4.71). Still, 4.59 is SLOW and yet I'd see him a yard past guys who ran 4.3's and not only would he get behind them, they wouldn't catch him. Combine speed, agility, acceleration and knowing how to play makes a dangerous player, not just one aspect. It's why guys like Gault and Nehemiah never went to the Hall of Fame...because they were super fast...but not great players.

Adoree certainly has a chance to be a great player...which is the important thing...not how we characterize his speed.

And btw, I got a blistering email from the Father of a Titans player (at the time) who read that I said his son only had average speed and he said his son ran a 4.48 so he was FAST! So by NFL standards he wasn't fast, but at his size, was fast enough to get by people. So size to weight to speed is a thing. One of the things that made Randy Moss so dangerous was that he had the speed of a smaller player but in a 6'4 frame with long arms!

I put 15 guys on the list above. How many of them are (or will be) Hall of Famers? Speed isn't everything. But it helps.

    4,48 isn't fast...it's pretty much avg for a wr.

Um...off the top of my head just on our current team I know Muhammed is faster (4.35 to Adoree's 4.42) and McBride is 'faster' at 4.41 while Byard is 'slower' at 4.44. Let's keep in mind that 40 times will vary a bit so just because Adoree ran a 4.42 one time doesn't mean that he always runs that speed so McBride and Byard are probably equal with him while Muhammed is probably a bit faster.

If I were to go thru all of the Titans in franchise history we'd be here a while. Adoree is fast, but not ridiculously fast...which seems to be the point you were trying to make.

4.40 is fast. 4.49 is not. Both have 4.4 'speed' though.

I agree with you on Vick.

But Sproles isn't fast...he's lightning QUICK!

And Adoree did not run step for step with Ross in college. Ross faked Adoree so quickly that Adoree tripped over his own feet and Ross had an easy TD. After that, Adoree played zone and had a nice rest of the game, but he was not up to running with Ross in man coverage. Ross was one of the few guys who had much better speed than Jackson and to stay with him required technique that Adoree is still learning. That's not to disparage Adoree...just the facts. Hopefully Adoree develops the technique he needs and with experience, can become a top level cb for us!

Thanks for understanding what I was trying to say. Being FAST and having ELITE speed are 2 totally different things.

Like I told them, Adoree is fast, but his speed isn't ELITE. I've heard a lot people say that he could have been an Olympic long jumper (which he probably could've been) and I also heard people say he could have went to the Olympics as a sprinter too (which is absurd). I watch a lot of track and field, therefore I've watched a lot of video on Adoree running track and I can say for sure that his speed isn't ELITE as certain people claim. None of them are on here though.

That's a good list of speed you have there. Haven't seen 5 of those players play in live action though. I'd add Ted Ginn and Joey Galloway to that list and maybe Michael Bennett (Vikings RB, not Seahawks DE haha)

But one thing is for sure, I went to the Georgia high school state meet and saw Tyreek Hill run and I can say he's the fastest kid I've ever seen with my eyes in the 100 meter dash.

But back to Adoree, he's very fast. The MariGOTA dude twisted my words all out of place. I'd be a damn fool if I didn't think he was fast.
