The key sign of a "great" GM is to cut bait? WTF. How about actually drafting and signing decent players he doesn't have to cut bait on? Tretola is the only "mistake" JRob really made (a 6th round pick) and he cut bait. But each individual player is in a different situation.

We actually have posters on these boards that think the coaching staff's job is to figure out who sucks. No, it is the coaching staff's job to help players succeed. They aren't sitting around fretting on who JRob should have taken with the 33rd pick of the draft. They are trying to figure out how they can help Dodd to succeed. Miny brains on here want the guy gone before he can even play a whole season.

How many people here know how a GM should do their job? Not many, from what I've seen. Certainly not those wanting to lynch Robinson because some other rookie had better stats in their first year.

FWIW, this Dodd thread has more pages than that of our First Team All-Pro rookie from a season ago. There is some proof that there are a bunch of losers who would rather complain and tell the GM how to do their job rather than give credit or show any sort of excitement about the team.

I'd be on the lookout for potential true 3-4 guys who can contribute to special teams as well for the 5th/6th OLB spots too. Guys like Marcus Rush

I mean crap, at least Elvis Weems is valuable on special teams even though he has Dudd value on offense.

WOW. Who has suggested that? You're the only to post such hyperbole. That's a far cry from anything I've written or read with the dissenting opinion. That's quite a misrepresentation.

It would be nice to draft and sign decent players all the time, but no GM is perfect in drafting. We will see if JRob is willing to admit his mistake by cutting Dodd.

Besides his draft status why should Dodd make the 53 man roster???

It's obviously an exaggeration. But you said that Robinson basically owes an explanation and assurance that he will learn from his "mistake", and your first complaint about Dodd's performance came after their 5th game.

How, in any way imaginable, is 5 games in a player's rookie season enough time to evaluate them? And how does a 2nd round struggling rookie (which there have been thousands of) warrant over 50 pages of complaints and cynicism? So what if other guys have looked better? Did Matt Jones not look like a better selection than Aaron Rodgers after one year, and didn't RGIII look better than Luck? And didn't Kendall Wright look like the better pick than Nick Perry for several years? That's certainly not the case anymore. And I'm sure everyone wanted to build a statue for Kenny Britt for a while. Do you seriously learn or remember nothing?

Using a little more intelligence as it pertains to the sport is something many members on here should try, instead of whining incessantly.
