Could we put him on practice squad? Let another team sign him and not take a cap hit?

I'm sure if we cut him there would be some kind of cap hit.

It's an interesting scenario. Can you PUP a guy who just sucks in hopes of saving him from cuts? At this point, would he even get snatched up on waivers....yes, he would, especially by a 4-3 team.

It's just sad, HE'S JUST NOT A 3-4 OLB. Like we said 10000 times since draft day....smdh what was JRob thinking!

If there is a way to let him go and not take a cap hit I say go for it.

Been here a helluva lot longer longer than you. You can't see how bad a pick Dodd was at #33 because his nuts are blocking your view.

Reading comprehension clearly isn't a required skill here.

The argument isn't that Dodd was a good pick. It's that there are about a hundred positive things you could talk about, but you are hung up on complaining about a second round player who hasn't even begun his second NFL regular season. Every. Single. Day.

Do you think Raiders fans are complaining constantly about Jihad Ward being a second round, second year bust? Or do you think they are more excited about their team finally having a young franchise QB with weapons all around him, their winning record last year, and a chance to make a dent in the playoffs?

Or do you think they are trashing their HC because he had losing seasons prior to his arrival, hoping that he loses his job, or do you think they are actually noticing the improvement in the team and are agreeing he deserves his shot, instead of nitpicking every single mistake that he makes?

Some of you clearly enjoying whining and feeling sorry for yourselves. A franchise turns around nearly overnight, but it's not good enough for you. Dodd sucks, Mularkey sucks, Logan Ryan sucks, Sly and Cyprien suck. These complaints and others probably come out of your mouth far more often than anything good you have to say.

You're obviously challenged following this subject line.

He was the the #33 overall pick. That's always been the beef. That's an important pick to hit on if you're trying to successfully rebuild the program. Some here like myself didn't like that pick from day one because there were many better picks on the board even that met our needs better. It wasn't the time to take a flier on a low producing guy. So far, things have born this out.

You fail to acknowledge that nobody here WANTS Dodd to fail. In fact, the opposite is true. Many long time Titans would love for him to be all pro. We're not blinded by player love that won't hold players accountable. There has been better production from new players taken later. Long time fans who want changes in performance (and results) understand the importance of accountability.

The franchise is heading in the right direction. But it's still one of the few franchises that hadn't won it all. We haven't been to playoffs in a long time. We blew it last year to a one win team as we've been doing it for years.

Those that know more expect more. And to the point- it is the blind defense of non productive players that many fans that earnestly desire success find unacceptable.

Dodd had not done anything to warrant the #33 pick. He hasn't shown any flashes that suggest he will with further "time to develop".

If you don't want to hear people complain, then quit reading this thread.

Again, there is no proof any of the guys at #33 will have better careers than Dodd. And after all, that is what is we want most from the players we draft, not just some flashes shown as a rookie.

You people are watching him on a week to week, snap to snap basis and expecting to immediately see results, and let your displeasure be known if you don't. There have been countless NFL players who have taken longer than one season and a couple of preseason games to put it all together, and they have had long, successful careers. And any of the guys you think would have been better picks could be out of the league long before Dodd.

And I know you guys think you are talent scouts and know how his career will pan out based on a few games, but you have to trust that there is a reason why he is getting time on the field, and it isn't all about his draft position. Mularkey and Dick have to keep their jobs, as well, and could give less of a crap about offending the GM by keeping a scrub off the field that he picked.

Dodd's pro comp was Michael Bennett, a guy who also took a few years to put it together. I'd certainly take a couple of rough seasons if that is the type of player we end up with in the long run. These guys aren't going to fly off the edge like Von Miller, but they have other physical gifts to beat tackles, it just sometimes takes a while to develop them.

Dodd could end up being worthless, but it is way too early to make that call. And next week will still be too early. And the week after that. And the week after that. Which is why it would be nice if everyone would just shut up about it already. We don't need a daily "Dodd sucks" update.
