The biggest mistake we've made is caring at all about offset language.

But now that we have made it clear it's an issue for us (albeit a dumb issue), we're gonna have to stand firm and not cave.

It does seem like every season we are always the last to sign our first round picks.

 

That's because we've been the last one to get our first round pick signed four out of the last five years.

 

But it really doesn't matter, as long as it's signed before camp starts. And since we're usually one of the last teams to start camp, it's kinda tied together.
There's nothing gained or lost by signing early or late. He could ink the contract as he walks into camp and everything would be fine.

 

People here are gonna turn on him so fast if he does end up holding out.
