thanks man I have a 4 and 2 year old. They are hardcore Titans fans, but not fans of sitting still for 2 or more hours.

Well, I am not going to tell you or anyone else what to do with their kids, but if mine were still that young I would personally not bring them. In previous years, there was just one set of bleachers and they didn't have a great view. The people who got there first stood up against the fence to watch and those who arrived later would have to stand behind them. If you had little kids, there is no way they would be able to see over the people in front of them. This year they are adding more new temporary bleachers, so if you do bring your kids, there should be plenty of seats available where they could see what's going on on the field.

Also, if you do bring your kids, they have port-a-johns outside the gate before you come in, so I would recommend you have your kids use them before you go in to practice. Actually, I would recommend that to anyone, regardless of age. There are three practice fields and if the team is using the far field it's a long walk from there back to the port-a-johns.

The following is just some personal advice from me, someone who has been attending training camp for more years than I care to remember.
    • Stay hydrated. Better yet, get well-hydrated before you come to practice by drinking plenty of Gatorade or similar liquid, water, etc.
    • Use sunscreen and bug repellant as necessary.
    • Dress appropriately for several hours in the sun on a hot summer day.

Edit: I forgot this when I wrote the above but the Titans don't have any afternoon practices this year, so the above advice will apply mainly to the morning practices and not so much for the evening practices.

You are more than welcome. I hope you will be able to make it to a few of the practices, it is a great experience to see the players on the field up close and personal, both when they do position work/drills and 7-on-7 and 11-vs-11 team work.

It used to be you could stand up against the fences and get a good look at all of that. This year with the new bleachers they said they would "discourage" people from standing along the fences so I don't know how that will work out.

If you make it to any of the morning practices I think you will really enjoy those a lot more than the evening practices. It's usually pretty crowded at the evening practices and you can't see as much and have to fight the crowds for everything from parking to getting a good place along the fence to watch practice. At the morning practices, it's not nearly as crowded so you can really see a lot.

So what's going on today from a camp standpoint? Pretty much nothing?

    Nothing today. Camp starts tomorrow.

I am guessing that Malarkey will have them in shells (helmet, shoulder pads, shorts) the first day or two of camp and then have them fully padded with a full contact practice on day 2 or 3. Lots of guys look good in shorts but when they put the pads on for full contact is when you find out a lot about the new guys. Those are the best practices to attend.

I think the NFL has a 3 practice rule for pads to come on, that may have changed so IDK 100%

Yep, it's in the CBA with the union. I think the number is 3 or 4 but that's just for training camp and the preseason. There is another number of padded practices they can have during the regular season.
