Mariota to play lighter(215lbs) despite the coaching staff wanting him heavier(225lbs)

“Once the season was done it was a combination of the Titans staff and myself (deciding on my ideal playing weight),” Mariota said, “and we wanted to focus on what playing weight would help me be the best at. And I think right around 215-218 is what I played at in college and I was able to run around and do some things. So that was the focus. If it doesn’t happen, if it doesn’t work out, I can always gain weight. But 218 is probably the best weight to play at and I’ll probably try and stick around there throughout the season.”

Oh, look...a quote from Mariota that says this decision was made by the Titans staff and himself... People were mad that he was taking advice from a trainer. Can y'all live with a couple of pound difference now that it's known that the Titans were in on it?

If Mary was more like Brady/Ryan and always got rid of the ball before the pass rush got there OK, but his game is more physical and he's losing weight? It's dumb

 

Well, he hasn't been able to play 16 games/season at his old weight.
