Does Washington even want to pay Cousins? Haven't they franchised him the past 2 years, cause they can't come to agreement with a proper long-term deal?

Even then, if Cousins gets as much or more than Carr. RIP in piece to any teams Salary Cap with a top 8 or future top 8 QB. That could be us if Mariota has the year many people think he will.

I don't get it man. He's had one TD in the last two seasons. I'm not buying any hype on a 30 year old TE suddenly improving because he had two solid playoff games due to the fact teams were dead set on stopping Jordy, Adams, and Cobb.

I think both Cousins and Pryor will head to SF...they're just using Washington to get a rapport going with each other, then they'll join Shanahan in Cali.

    Seems relevant to this thread.

Marcus Mariota in Tennessee and Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay were first-rounders in 2015, which means 2019 would be their fifth-year-option seasons and they'd be due for extensions either that summer or the summer of 2020. (Andrew Luck signed his extension before his option year.) What's worth watching about the summer of 2020 is that, as of now, there would be only one year left on the CBA. Depending on the labor climate and the expectations for the new deal (assuming it's not in place by then), 2020 free agents could be inclined to wait and risk the franchise tag.

Yeah, Carr said he just wanted to "get it out of the way, so we can sign some of my friends here and keep them too"

So your "just hurry up and get it signed" first number... is 25 million a year?

I think Mariota will be the better QB, and do not see him undervaluing his talents ------- but I also don't see him being the kind of person that Derek Carr's or Andrew Luck's a team's bank account that caters to him and being on the upward rise

Mariota like most all of these guys will let their agents handle negotiations. It really has nothing to do with the type of person Mariota is. If the agents explains what he's worth Mariotas going to leave it in his hands to get it done
