Brady wouldn't have any success at this point outside of NE.

I agree with you. NE is a great team, Brady is one of the better pieces on that team. He is really good and does what he needs to do, but he is not Joe Montana.

Bill Belichick, who you think is apparently the thing keeping the Patriots going, is the one who drafted the QB who couldn't start a game in college.

And somehow Cassel's best year came in KC, not NE. Go figure...

if you're gonna try to take credit from Brady this year, at least use his running game as the excuse. Atl choked, true but Brady also got them back into the game and performed when he needed to in his FIFTH SB victory in seven visits. The guy has been in at least the conference championship game in 11/16 years playing. You can go over every roster line up Brady has had and see the one player still around and consistent through all of it is Brady. You want to argue maybe his #2 on the list, fine. But just know you kidding yourself if you think he was anything less than a prime piece, if not the head piece of this NE dynasty.

I disagree as long as he has a line. Bet Tennessee would do very well with him, but I don't want 1-2 years of an old Brady over the young superstar to be, Mariota.

    That wasn't the posed question.

Brady threw a pick 6 in the freaking Super Bowl, and the offense couldn't muster more than 3 points in the first half. Not giving the defense an exorbitant amount of credit for keeping things competitive is crazy. What would the game have looked like if he had NO or GB's defense? Wouldn't have had a shot at winning.

Good coaches and managers adapt and are always improving their craft. It's obvious through his drafting process that he values the backup QB position more than he did at the time.

And Derek Anderson went to the Pro Bowl, so I could care less about one good fluke year amongst a bunch of mediocre ones. His career shows that he's an average backup QB at best, and the fact that they were able to win 11 games despite no experience at the pro or collegiate level is a pretty astonishing achievement. He would have been a disaster on any other team, had he been forced out there.

But he wasn't. He threw 64 TDs in three years, then started getting injured.

He completed over 58% of his passes in only one of those, and that was with NE. He was terrible the first year at KC and threw just as many INTs, followed by his fluke year where his completion percentage was still bad. Then average/below average backup caliber play subsequent to that. He wouldn't have sniffed a starting QB spot if he hadn't originated in NE's system. If he were ever really worth a crap, we would have been seeing it in recent years.

    @Rwill
So what makes Montana better or the GOAT over Brady?

    Wins?
    SB's?
    Yards?
    Pct?
    QB Rating?
    Years played?

Or @abc2330 is it 40 yd time?
