Peter King has the Titans at #4 in his power rankings

I really feel like Mularkey is the only thing holding me back from really buying into all of this optimism. For parts of the season he was a complete baffoon with the dumb challenges, awkward gimmick plays, terrible clock manage, and insisting on putting our franchise qb in a complementary role to get the most out of a 29 year old RB. Just asinine.

 

The Christmas Eve Massacre showed me Mularkey just can't be counted on, and because of that I see us as a .500 type team again..

Power rankings after week 3 or 4 won't be favorable to us IMO, but if we can repeat last year and hover around .500 all year we could slip into the playoffs. Then once you're there who knows... maybe by then our 2 top rookies are major contributors and put us over the top....

 

Yeah..the main focus this year should be BEATING THE COLTS AND TEXANS.....I don't want any F ing excuses either....

 

Beat the Colts just once and we prob sneak in as AFCS winners

 

What do I think is the best thing that has happened to the Titans this year?....

The Nashville Predators...........................

Laugh if you will -- but look at it...... These players are having a first person view of what the city can look like, what the stadium can look like, and what the drive to a title appearance looks like if they just constantly perform at a high level. And more than that ---- that they can pick each other up when they fall and not slip a gear (injuries) Mike Mularkey couldn't have a better motivator for this team than the Predators. I can just imagine the pump up from Mularkey, Orakpo and Company...

They found each other when they needed to most - and they went on a tear through Chicago, St. Louis, and Anaheim (and my god how pumped up the team would be if they shut down Pitt) .... We can beat ANY team ANY Sunday if we just FIND EACH OTHER when we need to most."

 

If we didn't have special teams breakdowns (which was not in Mularkey) and a **** secondary (which was not on Mularkey), we make the playoffs last season and people can't even make the argument.


Sure, he could have done some things better but coaches aren't perfect.

Blaming him for the Jags game seems like a cop out imo. The team was physically dominated on both sides of the ball that day. They simply were drained after having two very emotional weeks.

I believe in player accountability. I always have.

People can't have it both ways. Sure, blame him for that loss if you want but you better be crediting him for the turnaround too.

Blaming him for the bad and not giving him any credit for the good doesn't make sense. (not saying you in particular have done this. I've just seen it a few times)

 

Ive given him his fair share of credit, then came 12-24-16, and thats the last time I ever said anything good about him

 

You've always been overly emotional about that date so at least you're consistent lol


I get the frustration. I just didn't think that loss was on the coach m
