Disclaimer: For the purposes of this thread I did not include PS scrubs signed late in the season or after the season. I did include all drafted players but not any of the UDFA scrubs. Roster here: http://www.titansonline.com/team/roster.html

6 of the 9 players the Titans drafted, including 3 of the first 4, came from "Small" non power 5 schools. Which is really pissing off some fans, including some people crying about no SEC players being drafted by the Titans.

LSU is the school with the most players in the NFL but there is not one LSU guy on the Titans. Other top producers OSU, FSU, Florida and Miami also have produced no current Titans. We do however have two guys from FIU -- I wonder how many teams can say that?

    Closer look:

Top School: USC, with 3 players, is now our top school. Last year it was Alabama.

    Receivers and Tight Ends:

These groups are small school city. Out of this group only one big school is represented is Texas Tech. The other TEs come from Central Missoui, Ouachit Baptist and Florida International. The WRs come from Western Michigan, Nevada, UMASS, Louisville (non-power 5 when he went there), Bethune-Cookman, William & Mary and Western Kentucky.

    Secondary:

It is possible that 3 of the four starting spots could go to small school guys with the four being: Rutgers, Southern Utah, MTSU and Florida International.

    The Rest:

Offensive backfield - The small school haters will be happy to know this group has no small school guy: Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama, Alabama and Cal.

The OL: Also dominated by big schools. One starter went to Kent State and the rest went to Michigan, West Virginia, Georgia and Michigan State.

Front 7: Another group the small school haters will love. Out of all these players only one guy, a backup, went to a small school -- Illinois State.

Specialists: 2 of the three went to big schools. Their alma maters are Missouri, South Carolina and Toledo.

    State Stats:

California schools have given us the most players with 7 -- 3 from USC, 2 from UCLA and 1 from Fresno State and 1 from Cal.

Alabama schools have given us 5 players -- 2 from Alabama, 2 from Auburn and 1 from Troy

Kentucky, Texas and Michigan schools have given us 4 players each
    • 2 from Kentucky, 1 from Louisville and one from Western Kentucky
    • 1 from Texas, 1 from Texas Tech, 1 from TCU and 1 from Oauchita Baptist
    • 1 from Michigan, 1 from Michigan State, 1 from Western Michigan, 1 from Grand Valley State

Interesting stuff, but I think you could have just summed it up and said to the small school haters, "shut up and suck it".

I'll also add your math on Cal players is 7 vice 6 (3 USC, 2 UCLA, 1 FS, 1 Cal) but you did all the research, won't hold the math against you.

Thanks, I forgot to add him to the list initially. When I added him I neglected to correct the number.

FTR - I have not seen anyone on here seriously complaining about the Titans not taking any SEC guys. It is something I have seen a lot on twitter though, started Friday night.

I don't give a **** where they went to school as long as they can play football.

    That's Jrobs philosophy also.

I have absolutely no problem with going small schools, especially in the middle to late rounds. That's where you find your gems. There's only so many seats at the bigger schools and sometimes guys just slip through the cracks.

Maybe their high school wasn't a powerhouse, so they weren't heavily recruited. Doesn't mean they're any less of an athlete.

    That's the only reason why I wasn't a 5* recruit...
