Just so I'm on the record here, Corey Davis was my #1 WR and the #2 player in the draft for me. He was right behind Myles Garrett. I think this kid is a stud, and will be the #1 WR we have been looking for since Derrick Mason.

Despite his high ranking for me, I wasn't initially as excited as I should have been when we drafted him. I thought he was going to be around at #18 and wanted us to take Lattimore (who was also a top 5 player for me). But once I saw the run on WR's I knew we made the right call, and was ecstatic we got the best one.

My biggest knock on Davis is that at times, he turns into a body catcher, and that can lead to some drops. He does tend to get sloppy with some underneath routes at times too, but all in all he is a really good route runner.

Reminds me a lot of T.O., but hopefully much less dramatic.

Davis' demeanor is soooo the opposite of TO's

Id be very surprised if Davis is ever a headache to us

hes not like Kenny Britt either, seems very mature

What was it about him that got you all jazzed up about him? I'm honestly asking for your best scouting report, because I've watched some film and like what I see, but haven't watched a ton still.

I can send you my notes on him when I'm back at my computer, but he is a very polished WR.

The first thing that jumps out is his ability to seperate. He creates space in a multitude of ways. He is a polished route runner (although sometimes he drifts when running underneath routes). Watching him run a go route is a lot of fun. He knows how to set up the DB's with his feet, and seems like he is always in great position for those 50/50 balls. That's why he wins a lot of them. He has tremendous run after the catch ability, and also makes some tremendous catches (see 1 handed TD catch this year).

Really the only weakness I saw in his game was that he tends to be a bit of a body catcher from time to time, and that can lead to some drops.

He's big, strong, and fast. Knows how to get open, can make contested catches, as well as highlight reel catches. He has great run after the catch ability, and can score with the ball in his hands. He can high point the football, but he also knows how to position his body to give him the best chance to come down with it.
