he'll be fine, Marcus'll figure it out. It's funny the other day in reference to arm strength they said Watson was no Mariota , like Marcus's arm is strong. Once again I think he used to finesse his throws but he has the strength and has the ability and is starting to use it.

Yoda got that perfect medium distance speed on his ball but he isn't burning it... let's not fool ourselves. Sufficient.

He has some of this flick of his wrist throws you wonder where the power comes from and then he has those weird deep ball floaters... 4.2 WR? I'd still bet he outruns a Yoda deep ball.

Get out of here with the mm8 deep ball crap. Dude throws a catchable ball to his receivers (that's the goal). Yes he's young and learning, but he has enough to throw all the passes we need him to.

I'm sure I could go find him lofting some in domes to but with how he puts touch on them like that- I'm sure wind would effect it

Nice visual representation of his deep targets. Lots and lots of those cusp + or - 20 yarders. It's the +25 to 30's I'd be concerned about with Ross. We know Mariota was getting better as the season progressed and the charts show that.

By my count of those real deep shots...

    Week 1: N/A
    Week 2: 1 TD at 25, 1 INT at 30.
    Week 3: 1 incompletion at 40
    Week 4: 1 completion at 30, 3 incompletions at 24, 32 and 33
    Week 5: 1 completion at 24, 1 incompletion at 30.
    Week 6: 1 completion at 40, 1 TD at 43.
    Week 7: 2 incompletions at 26 and 46.
    Week 8: 1 TD at 39.
    Week 9: 1 completion at 26. 2 incompletions at 30 and 37.
    Week 10: 1 TD at 34. 2 incompletions at 26 and 30.
    Week 11: 1 TD at 38
    Week 12: 3 completions at 24, 29 and 31. 1 TD at 36. 1 incompletion at 48.
    Week 14: 3 incompletions at 27, 29 and 33.
    Week 15: 1 completion at 43, 1 incompletion at 31.
    Week 16: 2 incompletions at 24 and 30.

    6 TDs.
    1 INT
    18 incompletions.
    8 regular completions (14 total)

It's near that 50/50 range you'd expect with such high variance. Would obviously be better if ross was wide open by 20 yards tho. Seems to be mariotas sweet spot.

Ross “had every team in the league” attempting to schedule private workouts and visits following his jaw-dropping combine performance but with shoulder surgery scheduled for Tuesday, his availability is limited. The Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets,Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans have expressed the most interest in him, thus far, sources said.
