The #33 pick is very comparable to a 1st round pick.....No debating it. The guy you take there should be some one that can/will add value & contribute right away.

No one is mad at him for being injured. I BELIEVE pretty much every Titans' fan is disappointed in the pick at this point. Not because he was injured. Because of how he returned from the injury & his lack of effort/production. He had the surgery early enough in the season to come back & contribute later in the season. Mularkey even went as far as to say the injury was not the issue any longer. It was his effort/mental ability to get past the injury. He was not practicing or playing to the level he was capable; after recovery. Physically he was 100% when put on IR. He was not performing due to effort/mental limitations. See the link below:

The kid was mocked as high as mid 1st round & selected at the very top of the 2nd. He should've been a guy we could count on in relief of our starters at the least.

That is not saying he cannot come back next year and be the guy we wanted when we drafted him. I hope he can........ However, in the past; guys with these type of effort/mental issues have not worked out. I am not giving up on him; I just do not think you can bet on him being the guy JRob thought he would be.... You cannot hit on them all. However, you can be realistic and expect them to TRY to meet their potential.

Dodds about the same as players picked before him. Just throwing out names...

Darron Lee has sucked, Treadwell had like 1 catch, William Jackson was injured as well, Kenny Clark has sucked, Garnett sucked, Nkemdiche sucked, Butler didn't really player, Ifedi sucked.

Most these players were drafted by quality GMs too.

End of the first/top of the second round picks are just not sure things. Its still too early to give up on any of these guys regardless.

Not to mention his college teammate , Shaq Lawson, also had an awful first season despite being drafted much earlier. Both of these guys will get much better. Nick Perry, who many on this board wanted, took 5 years to put it all together. Hopefully that's not the case with Dodd, but the point is, all of these guys have yet to play anything close to their best football.

Yeah, why does everyone have to be so negative? I actually expect big things from Dodd when his contract year arrives.

Yeah but we should see something right away if he's going to be anything. He had 3 games with reasonable snaps where he didn't even share a tackle. Bad. Nobody recommends giving up (cutting him)but we have to be real about what we've seen so far. If he doesn't come out playing at a #33, I'm ok giving his roster spot to somebody who demonstrates a good work ethic.

At least at NT, Titans brass apparently disagree, as they cut the starter, even kept the b/u... Doubt it's a money issue... SS, we won't know for sure for a few months...

Everything I've read about Howard says he is already a willing and skilled blocker. Most rookie TE's are not... Mularkey is a solid TE coach and would likely use him from day 1, as he's both a receiving threat and a help in the run game...

25 yr old one year wonder from the Clown College. Hated the pick last April, hate the pick even more now.
