Well yeah obviously samuel is going to have some short receptions as a slot/RB, doesn't mean he can't catch.

Did I say you were the one that said that? Most slot WRs aren't going to catch a ton of balls down field. Not a great point.

Lol ok dude. I made a point about receptions within 4 yds, can't read much into those.

Why quote me with the rebuttal of "doesn't mean he can't catch".

Why can't you read into catches within there. He is a slot, you get the ball in his hands and let him make plays. He can catch as the numbers will show you.

I would actually say that sounds more like a space player or possession guy/run extension - in that you can get creative in how you get him the ball.

For some players stats really don't tell the story. Really have to dive into the film to see how good they actually are. Is it an offense limited by a mediocre QB where they have to come up with inventive ways to get the ball to playmakers, or is it a QB who just checks down a ton, or is the receiver really only useful at catching bubble screens and getting 8-10 yards a pop?

You see that in the NFL with guys like Tavon Austin. Is he really only a mediocre WR who can't catch a ball more than 10 yards downfield and is bad at route running, or is his QB play just so terrible that he can't do any better? Personally I think it's both for him, but that's just me.

Why you keep telling me he can catch baffles me. I never said he couldn't catch.

let me make this very clear..... I do not take much stock in a guy who is called a WR with a majority of their receptions within 4 yds of the line of scrimmage, there are too many gimmick offenses that use that as an extension of the run game that will never translate to the NFL and actual technical challenges that an NFL WR will face. Catching a 3 yd bubble is alot different than catching a 9 yd stick nod or smash or option high low.

    Comprende?

OSU never threw any bubble screens this year, he played like a normal slot and also lined up in the backfield at times. He caught plenty of balls downfield. Did you even watch Samuel I'm just curious?

Calling Curtis Samuel anything other than a playmaker is off base. Not a possession receiver.
