I know realize that most of us here love trade downs and believe it is the path to winning the Superb Owl. However, we may be at the point where we need quality over quantity. We have plenty of average, above average and role players. What about some stars?

Trading a third this year and a second next year could move us up quite a bit.

Let's say, we take a guy we really want at 5 then there is another guy, or guys we want which we could get by trading up but not be there at 18. Would you make the move? Or would you settle for what falls to 18?

Is it worth giving up a couple extra picks to get a guy you think is the next Mike Evans instead of settling for the next Kendall Wright? If you think a guy could be the next Eric Berry do you trade up for wait/trade down and settle for a guy you think is the next Michael Griffin?

I am starting to think trading up, instead of down might be in our best interest.

People will point to teams like the Rams and Washington as teams who traded up and had it blow up in their faces. However, I can also point out that teams have traded down and have it do jack for them -- like the Rams (previously) and Browns (on multiple occasions).

I suppose if we're talking game changers that fall out of the top 10 then maybe Id be interested in moving up from 18. Really haven't even thought about moving up to be honest.

OJ Howard might be someone to do it for, he appears to be everything you could dream of in a TE and our offense really likes TE's.

Corey Davis could fall out of the top 10, if he's still around in the middle of the draft hes a guy to move up for too.

Reuben Foster is another elite prospect youd be lucky to land between 6 and 17th overall, I might do it for him too.

But the real question is still who do we take a 5? No one even thinks theres a guy worth the 5th pick, let alone the 18th and a third this year and a second next year..

Once I see what we do at 5 and how things shake out after our pick then Ill be more comfortable giving up a pick or two to get a second stud THIS year...

Then let's keep trading down and get as many picks as possible. More chances at getting superstars :)

    thats a good point

but JR's hit or miss rate is currently at 50%, if it were a little higher Id say for sure accumulate picks, but even JR has missed on some guys

We write Dodd off if he sucks this year...He won't have any excuses if he stays healthy...but I am not writing him off yet...Same people that are. are the same that don't write off Myles Jack and Smith...even though they haven't done jack Dick either.....

Could easily see a situation in which we go a defensive player at 5 and JRob wants to move up for his WR of choice.
