youre acting like Mularkey has had an original idea, he doesn't. Hes simply out there installing plays from the 2008 Dolphins playbook

he wouldnt know what to do with Howard as a TE2 besides keep him inline to block

If we get howard in any round, he's going to get touches. He's a very talented guy and mularky will be forced to use him in some way. Walker and howard could both play te, wr and line up in the back field

thats a good point actually, both Howard and Walker could be used as WR's almost

ok maybe Howard could have a place here with Mularkey

This was my thought, it's pretty rare to have 2 TE's that are that capable offensively. He probably hasn't been in that situation before. I'm not a big fan of the idea of TE at 18, but I could see the potential.

As for Foster, I agree. Even with the injury,I can't see him dropping that far. I think if we were able to trade back to the 10-12 range, he might be there, maybe.

I'd love Howard at 18 but doubt he's there.

I personally see TE a bigger need than WR.

Agreed with Jeff. The team "mentality" offensively now for a while has felt TE first before WR just simply because Mularkey is here and that Dolphins 2008 playbook that JCB mentioned still has a pretty cover.

Certainly the buzz around Howard puts the Titans in a tricky spot for snagging him ; 5 too high , 18 too late. A Jrob trade-down might put us in contention but I think it is more likely that we would consider Njoku at 18 if the Front Office felt there was enough of a need to take the second in class.

Off the record I have a hunch , not based on anything at all , that New Orleans might take him at 11 even though they have Fleener.

    Even if he did that...

How much more dangerous is this team with us throwing to OJ Howard in the flat instead of Fasano or Supernaw?

we rarely asked those 2 to go out and catch tho, Im just not so sure theres enough balls to go around to warrant using a top pick on a 2nd pass catching TE this year

Howard is great tho, we'd be lucky to get him, but how often will he be used is my question......

Looking forward to seeing Howard at the combine, especially after he said he's expecting to run a 4.58 40. A guy that size (6'6 250) running that time would be awesome. Definitely going to watch Njoku carefully too.

Njoku might steal the show from Howard come combine time, Njoku looks like he belongs in the WWE
