We got to replace KW, I think Wheaton would be a good slot replacement and would have a better attitude than KW. Don't get me wrong, Wheaton isn't the #1 WR stud we need.

Wheaton played primarily outside for the steelers actually. He did kick inside when Bryant went on the field tho. They kinda rotated outside.

Deep threat target. He also showed some inconsistent hands. Not sure he provides that inside small ball YAC you want from your slot guy.

Steelers were actively trying to replace him as well and they gonna let him walk in FA... says something.

He has speed, we need speed. He's likely better than dougie going forward. Depends heavily on the price.

I'd be fine with Wheaton, but it is tough to get excited about FA's like that when I think we can draft a future start like Chris Godwin in the 3rd (if we don't draft Davis/Williams).

The fact is that we will add 1 vet WR in FA and add a rookie or 2 in the draft.

We will not get a #1 WR in FA. We will be looking at complimentary pieces #2/#3 guys. Stills is my favorite addition, but Wheaton would be cheaper and could offer us what we need.

I read Stills may be looking for around the $10m/yr range. That's just crazy money for a guy like him.

That is crazy money for your 3rd WR, $10M gets you Randal Cobb/Larry Fitzgerald types who are starters on any team. Stills is a nice complimentary piece but hes no Cobb/Fitz

No kidding. Maclin's average is at $11m/yr. I'd pay a guy like him all day long over Stills.

Although to be fair, there are a few other WR that avg some silly salaries too:
    Vincent Jackson - $11.25M
    Tavon Austin - $10.5M
    Allen Hurns - $10.2M

Vincent Jackson was once worth $11M/yr

and speaking of Jackson, hes a FA now, wonder where hes at health wise tho... Hes older too...

HARD pass. He's 34 and been on a steady decline since 2014:

    2014: 70 catches, 1002 yards, 2 TD's
    2015: 33 catches, 543 yards, 3 TD's
    2016: 15 catches, 173 yards, 0 TD's
