yes they could and they suck also... none of them deserve to be in 2 tone blue in 2017

 

How can someone that watches totans games call mccourty a "decent" cb. This dude is absolute trash. Idk if he does anything "decent" at all on the field. I would much rather use that 7m on almost any cb under 30 vs having mccourty back in 17.

 

I certainly have no beef letting McCourty go and he is definitely overpaid for his abilities.

I will make this argument to keep him though. IF he were to take a pay cut to stay, he may be ok for the nickel/ dime CB positions. I'm all for allowing the young talent to develop too but it is possible that McCourty looks as bad as he does because he was hurt (for part of the season anyway) and our sorry secondary expected him to cover top WR. He's not good enough for that duty but might still be able to cover #2/3/4 WR or a TE. All hinging on a pay cut though.

 

if Mariota really is as good as you all say he is then he can play CB fine. If he can't then he sucks, trade him for a backup OL.

 

He used to be a sure tackler, but not so much now

Plus he gives a 15 yard cushion to guys, I'm done with him

I assume they will try to rework McCourty's deal. Add some length but lessen the annual salary.

 

Sims had a nice finish to the season

He's somebody I'd expect to contend for a starting gig soon

 

retaining the two youngsters that had the least to do with the DB unit being nearly the worst in the NFL seems fine to me
