And we all say it every day in one post or another... can we speak it into existence?

It's possible but unlikely. By the end of the 1st round, you are dealing with 2nd round caliber talent. While you lose out on the 5th year, with pick 33, you know you have a lot of trade options to draft further, get another mid round pick and still get one of a group of players you covet.

Obviously, moving back to around 10-12 from 5 is the easiest answer since it could net us a 2nd round pick, we keep our 5th yr option and likely get a top 10 level player.

We should have an idea depending on how many qb's and rb's go before pick #5 and if Garrett and Allen are both gone.

I still say the Browns is our best possible spot at landing the "value of #5"

I can't see the Bills or Saints being able to put enough on the table to get Robinson to budge off...

The Browns have the most to offer us (and we have enough to counter sweeten the deal as well.) that I'm certain Jrob already sees the eye candy...

Would this work?: Cleveland Rd 1 Rd 2, Rd 2
    Tennessee Rd 1 Rd 3

Although, anyway you slice it -- I can't see us being able to milk a 2018 first round pick either - unless all 3 QB's absolutely rocket their combine performances....

For the value JRob know's you can get out of the 2nd round, and we've already seen him trade back and acquire multiple 2nd rounders once..... it has to be an extreme favorite...

Yes, maybe we won't be in line for Williams at 12... But Foster isn't farfetch'd.... And certainly almost all of the 1st round run cornerbacks will be there

JRob is on record saying he covets 2nd rounders... and values quantity in first two rounds over single highest picks. Expect a trade from 5 a lot more than from 18. Only way he moves from 5 is for a 2nd... or just a few spots for a third then packages 2 3rds for a second.

Lot of options and good thing draft is abundant at CB. I truly hope we get a top 2 WR and a top 2 CB.

I just love the draft. I mean I like almost as much as watching the games! Of course he is excited about it! He gets to put his stamp on the team. After last year, I am very excited to see what he does. We have 2 first round draft picks that open up options, or bring us 2 quality prospects. Nice time to be a Titan fan. We should have made the playoffs this year! Only improvement is possible.

No, you're off quite a bit on value of the picks. Every team we could trade with has the ammo to move up to pick #5. All of them!

But since you asked about Cleveland...here are two options for trading with Cleveland.

We drop from #5 (1700) to #12 (1200). Difference is 500. We want pick #33 (580) and have to give back picks #114 (66) and #147 (32.2) and get back a 7th round pick in 2018.

    So we'd give up a 1st (pick 5), 4th (pick 114), a 5th (pick 147)...

    for a First (pick 12), a Second (pick 33) and a Seventh in 2018.

To add their lower Second round pick (pick 52), we'd have to give up both of our 3rds (picks 69 and 83) and get back Cleveland's 5th (pick 128).

Realistically, to get what you want (their 1st and both 2nds)...this is what we'd give and get...

    Give up
    Pick 5
    Pick 69
    Pick 83
    Pick 114
    Pick 147

    Get back
    Pick 12
    Pick 33
    Pick 52
    Pick 128
    2018 7th round pick

The problem is, why would the Browns give up 3 premium picks? Notice we'd have 3 picks in the top 52 (not counting our pick 18) and the Browns would have 1 (not counting the first pick in the draft...just relative value of this trade).

If 2 of the 3 qb's are gone and they just absolutely have to do it...GREAT!!! But that would be raking them over the coals...not from a points perspective but because of the quality of picks they'd be giving up. Short of Garrett falling to 5 or someone else we just can't pass up, I'd make this trade for sure...knowing I could always trade back from pick 33 and recoup another mid round pick! But this is just highly unlikely Cleveland would go for this!

It'd be hard enough to pry pick #33 from them. They would prefer to give up their later 2nd round pick ((pick 52)they got from us in the Conklin deal) and a 4th. Decent value but not as high a 2nd as we'd like. We could play hardball for pick #33 but as shown above, we'd be giving picks back too.

The Conklin deal is proof he's willing to take the player he wants...even if he has to give up significant value for the pick. We gave up a first, second in 2017, and a third for a single first rounder. So he may covet more picks in the first two rounds, but for the right player, he's willing to over ride that mentality!

Not trying to 'prove' you wrong, just pointing out there are over riding circumstances too.

And I agree, I think we are much more likely to trade back from 5 to get a 2nd then trade back from 18 though...trading back from 18 to 33 would probably allow us to get both of Cleveland's 2nd rounds picks if we gave them our 4th back!

Theoretically, we could trade back with one team from 5 and recoup a 2nd round pick, then trade back from 18 and get both of Cleveland's 2nd round picks. That would net us a top 10 pick in round 1 and 3 2nd round picks *including the top pick in round 2). And if we had pick 33, we could probably just trade a 7th rounder to move to pick 32 so JRob can have his 5th year for two prospects!!!

I think the Conklin trade (and future ones comparably) are due to him having that extra currency. He knew he was still going to have 2 firsts this year, that second was already discounted.

We have 2 thirds this year, I could see one of them being traded and moved to an '18 pick, as well as a trade down from 5 to add more fire power for another trade up to get the target player.

We could trade from 5 to 12, and take the second round we acquire to trade up from 18 to bunch together our picks to guarentee 2 "top" players that we covet instead of waiting at 18.

The philosophy isn't just about adding and having extra picks... it's about having and using the picks to go get "YOUR" guys. Aka.. Conklin.

I will say with all confidence, absolutely not. Unless it is like a Conklin deal where he makes a huge trade and gets a lot of picks, then bundles some of those picks to get a pick. But, outright trading future picks, no I really cannot see it happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if we traded back with both 1st rounders. And I wouldn't mind that at all as long as we are fairly compensated.
