I gave it a B+. Delanie is an elite TE, although it's expected he will start to slow down. Fasano provided some great blocking all season long, IMO. Supernaw was quiet and effective. Amaro was underutilized, but as I mentioned before, sounds like he isn't a big fan of blocking and that's a no-go in MM and Robiskie's offense. My rating of a B+ is because they got the job done, there's room for improvement, but it's certainly not a position of weakness like CB/FS/SS, which would all receive Ds.

I wonder if Jake Butt falls to our 3rd-4th due to tearing his ACL in his bowl game. He was a fringe 1st rounder prior to his injury. Not sure what his recovery window is.

A-. Wasn't expecting them to have big years in this system. But they helped the OL become "the top" unit in the NFL, and still pitched in offensively. I do want them to get a top TE soon, but not this year, too many holes. That's something for next year.

you didnt expect a former TE coach to feature a heavy does of TE's in his system?

The point of drafting a TE high would be to keep the offense using the same personel grouping but also creates bad mismatches for the D in the passing game. When NE had Gronk and Aaron Hernandez, those two players were a matchup nightmare. If we force teams to take a LB off the field and add a 3rd S to better be able to cover, it makes our running game that much better. If we don't, we now have another TE who can get open for Mariota! And hopefully, that TE is also a better blocker than Supernaw and Fasano have been.

Upside in the run game AND the passing game and gives us an heir for when Walker calls it a career!

Jared Cook - would he come back?

So does he "identify" as a TE or a WR?

I don't disagree that another good TE would be a nice addition... But I think TE's are really undervalued in the draft. Good ones can be found later and even undrafted.

Look back at drafts by position. Rounds 1-4 usually see 1-2 TEs per round a year picked. Doesn't pick up much even in 5-7. There has to be more quality TE's out there than the number being drafted.

I wonder if we would add a dynamic receiving TE like Evan Engram from Ole Miss, or if the lack of blocking ability would turn us elsewhere. Would love to see a threat like him on the field with Walker/to replace Walker, but our offense is so predicated on the TEs blocking that Engram and guys like him may not be a fit.
