Remember Bama vs. LSU for it all just a few years back?

They were the two best... from the same conference... from the same division.

If the goal is to have the best six or eight teams represented in the playoffs, you'll occasionally get more than one from the same conference.

I'd be happy with the winners of SEC, Big 10, Pac-12, ACC and Big 12 to get auto bids and then fill out the remaining three with the highest-rated at-large teams.

How you rank them once in becomes a challenge but I take anything over the way it was done pre-BCS. And you know the money would be huge.

To be fair no one would have called Florida the best team in the SEC if they had beat Bama. Should UF have gotten in over Bama in that scenario?

I'm sure the committee looked at the head to head between PSU and OSU and saw that OSU out gained them by 150 yards, held possession for 15 minutes longer and held PSU to 2 of 13 on 3rd downs. So yes they may have deemed that win an anomaly.

If Washington beats Bama, it could also be deemed a fluke but the playoffs clearly state the winner advances, that's not so in the regular season.

I don't want to be mean but the argument for more teams is very weak. None of you have made your case very well at all. I made a solid case why it is not needed. Who cares if USC or Colorado are in the post season?

Since Altitan and some others place ultimate importance in head to head matchups then Duke should be in the playoffs. You heard that right Duke! Why? They beat north Carolina, North Carolina beat Pitt, Pitt beat Penn State and Clemson. Duke got robbed!

Where is duke ranked? They are not so i say let's rank teams 1-100 and have a 100 team playoff! If you did team 101 would be b*tching.

Alex would be pontificating about how unfair the system is because team 101 got jobbed. It's stupid! If Penn State did not lose to Pitt they are in, if Michigan had not lost to Iowa they would be in.

The unusual situation in 2014 with TCU and Baylor on the outside looking in with one loss was the fault of the big 12 for not having a championship game.

    4 teams is enough.

Nobody said they didn't. 3 of the 4 playoff teams are conference champs.

According to Alex and Altitan Duke is better than OSU, Penn State and Clemson. Duke got robbed!

actual Conference Champions should be in the 4 team POs or the POs should expand to include all conference champions and some useless loser schools like oHIo state who was taken to the showers by Pedo State

And also remember there is a poster named Alex who thinks that every team in the country should reduce their schedule by 2-3 games to accommodate an expanded playoff. According to him teams like Vanderbilt should lose out so a team like Colorado can make the post season.

When i disagreed with that stupidity he called it bullcrap.
