Something about Adoree screams gadget player at best to me. Tavon Austin, Coradelle Patterson type. Different position I know. But doubt he turns into a legit starting CB.

Penn State game will show a lot for Adoree.

...and I agree that the Colorado CB's look good, though I've only watched them casually.

I said early in the year I would sign him if he continues to show he can make good throws. This is when MM was really struggling, and turning the ball over. I have not hyped him all year, but keep telling lies to make yourself look good. Ross missed some balls, and I saw little separation. He is also too small to block in our system, and hardly worth wasting a 1st around pick on. But you are so hung up on getting a receiver that will make the hilite reel every week you can't even think logically. Your hero worship for MM clouds your judgement. Immaturity.

This is what kids do - use words like this. They have overactive imaginations, and say things that are not true. Because I don't see the hype about a guy, you say I am bashing him. I had you on ignore, and sorry I took you off. You are just a little immature boy that tries to look important by slinging insults. You looked idiotic with all your talk of a "true #1", and you still get caught up in speed guys. There is still no guarantee MM is our franchise QB, but if he keeps improving he has a chance to be. Washington won the game pretty handily, amazing that their QB had a terrible game and they still won. If you could understand football, you would know that long passes are based on timing, from hours of practice. If a receiver gets bumped off a route it screws that up. You throw and assume the WR will be where you put the ball. MM still throws long at times, but one step missed can cause that. I am sure they have told him better too long than too short.

    Cbs:
    Desmond King
    Quincy Wilson
    Marshon lattimore

    Lbers (inside):
    Reuben Foster
    Jarrad Davis
    Harvey Langi (late round)

    WRs:
    Corey Davis
    Mike Williams
    John Ross
    Dede Westbrook
    Jehu Chesson (later)

    TEs:
    Jake Butt
    OJ Howard

    Free Agent wish list:

    Pierre Garçon
    Stephon Gilmore

    ----
Combination of any of these guys and we should be much better off. We have a good chance at snagging a top CB with the Rams pick and getting whichever is left at LB come our pick.

Sign a FA Wr such as garçon and a mid round speed WR. Likely need to get a TE in the third round. (Or second if we can trade back a bit in the first)

Don't see a glaring need in either of the Lines.

Mariota played poorly in 2 games this year. He played spectacularly in 5 games and pretty good on the rest. So you were only hyping a college QB for 2 weeks...and in those same 2 weeks you thought Mariota was done? LOL

QB's are measured over seasons of time, not one or two games...but you don't understand that nor do you want to. Which is fine.

If you saw little separation, then we don't really need to discuss what you see vs what I see. If Ross is ahead of his defender by 2 yards on a deep route with no one ahead of him, that's a TD waiting to happen. Browning under throws him by 5+ yards on the first play - should have been picked even though if Browning could have led him, it would have been a TD. On the other, the ball was badly underthrown AND thrown so far to the inside Ross couldn't get near it. That's 2 TD's missed because of the QB. And the only TD to Ross Browning was trying to throw it out of bounds and Ross made a highlight reel play to catch it and scamper into the endzone. And you might take notice that Colorado have 2 really good CB so he's not gonna be open by 5 yards on every play. No WR would be against them.

It's funny, if Ross is too small to block, how do they have such a potent running game?

And it's funny, I'm not hung up on getting any player or position in round 1. I've floated out multiple position players to look at, not just speed wr's...lol I've also suggested taking a Mike Williams, who is the OPPOSITE of Ross! But you wouldn't know that.

You call it hero worship, I call it reality. Unlike you, I know a heck of a lot about evaluating players. And it's pretty funny, I've spoken openly about what Mariota has been good at and what he's needed to work on...which doesn't sound like hero worship to me. But if you think it is hero worship, go ahead and quote me to prove your point...

And you calling me immature is amusing. Is that all you have left?

    I'm sorry...

...you took me off ignore too!!! LOL

So adults don't use the words 'praises', 'terrible', or 'bash?' ONLY kids use them? All of the adults I know (football players, coaches, teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, actors, consultants, finance people, computer people) use these words and a lot more. It's called vocabulary!

But I'm just an immature 'boy' because...I don't agree with you and call you out on nonsense? Oh no......

...that doesn't bother me at all:)

You can call me whatever you want within TJ's rules of course. Calling me immature or a boy or whatever big boy insult you can come up with just makes me laugh! You're not the first to resort to name calling and you won't be the last! But a little hint...name calling doesn't win you an argument or a discussion and doesn't earn you any respect.

Some people don't want to be enlightened, they just want to believe whatever it is they choose to believe...whether it has any justification or not (ie...whether they know what they are talking about or not) so they can shout it from the Mountain tops as loud as they can - thinking the force of their will - will make others follow. Some who don't know any better might follow. But the ones who know, will follow the person who is right, not the loudest or who yells the most insults.

Time for you to put me back on ignore!

I think King will fall out of round 1 unless he goes to a heavy zone team. Most think his speed is suspect. But will we return to playing predominantly zone? Outside of perhaps a lack of top end speed, I really love his aggressiveness and heart. And unlike most, he's got ball skills too!

Not sure Wilson or Lattimore are first rounders...yet. They are 2nd and 3rd rounders right now on my board (Wilson in 3rd, Latt in 2nd) but I need to watch more tape. Most rate Wilson higher just because of his size. Tabor doesn't always follow the top wr around but he does it more often than Wilson and teams stay away from Tabor...and Wilson gets more help. Latt has another great cb on the other side, a beast of an ILB and a really good DL that can pressure the QB. With Hooker behind them, they play everything tight. Might be a little overhyped but like King, are aggressive to the ball.

Surprised Tabor isn't even on your list. Where do you have him and why not in round 1 (unless it's off field stuff).

I like Howard over Butt but Butt is pretty good...I just don't love him as much as most! I think Howard is a better blocker and receiver who just doesn't get many opportunities.

Garcon is a very good WR and certainly an alternative to using a high pick on one if we think we need a better starter (or if they are letting KW walk). Gilmore has had a rough season and the fact that we have struggled to develop cb's, he'd be a major prime bust candidate. If he can get back to his hey day, someone could get him for a steal. But paying BIG money to find out is too risky to me.

What do you think of Cunningham -Vandy ILB - compared to Foster and Davis?

King to me is just a great scheme fit. Helps in all the areas that you want from a cb. Finds the ball, gets after the runner. Chip on his shoulder. He could easily slide into the late first category because of scheme.

Tabor is in the discussion but he doesn't pop off the screen like these other guys I mentioned. At least not to me. I went Wilson over him because of upside. Latt might not declare tho.

Butt to me is a great receiving threat. In today's game you might as well look at that position on two different ways. Inline and split Y. He is a slightly better split but he isn't horrendous at blocking either. OJ more rounded.

Lastly, Cunningham has a little height advantage over the other two but I consistently see his gap fill being suspect and his tackling being worse. The guy might be there but he misses so many tackles. Coachable traits. The other two seem more
like true ILB. Nasty enforcers. I love foster as much as the next fan but I wouldn't be hurt about Davis in two tone blue one bit.

Yeah, I can't evaluate talent but you can. lol. You read the same stuff I do.

    Cornerbacks
    1. Desmond King, Iowa
Why he’s on the list: Perhaps the best zone cornerback in the nation, King has excellent ball skills that have led to 11 interceptions and 16 passes defensed over the last two years. He’s also strong in run support, ranking third in the nation last season, while missing only five tackles on 138 attempts the last two seasons.

What we’d like to see: Classifying King as a “zone corner” is not a knock on his man coverage skills, but more about highlighting his skillset. Still, it’d be great to see him in more press man situations against top wide receivers.

    1. Jalen Tabor, Florida
Why he’s on the list: Tabor can read and break on the ball as quickly as any corner in the class, helping him finish with four interceptions and 12 passes defensed on only 58 targets. He also makes quarterbacks pay for errant throws when playing zone coverage. He has the size, speed, and movement skills to be the top cornerback off the board.

What we’d like to see: A lot of Tabor’s big plays come from his educated guesses, which isn’t the worst thing in the world, but there’s a double move to be had on him every now and then. With first rounder Vernon Hargreaves III off to the NFL, we’d like to see Tabor play the boundary where he’ll get tested more often this season.

    1. Jourdan Lewis, Michigan
Why he’s on the list: Lewis will be docked by a number of teams due to a lack of height, but his 2015 performance is difficult to ignore. He plays a feisty brand of man coverage, mirroring receivers and doing a nice job of playing the ball in the air. He’s also a good run defender and solid tackler.

What we’d like to see: Lewis can get too physical at times in coverage and his size does come into play against more physical receivers. He doesn’t have a big margin for error against bigger receivers, so we’d love to see him repeat the dominant performance that he showed last season.

    1. Marlon Humphrey, Alabama
Why he’s on the list: Humphrey has the length and speed to play man or zone coverage, and his on-field production was among the nation’s best last season. Some of his best work came as an underneath zone defender with his eyes on the quarterback. He’s only a redshirt sophomore so there’s still room to improve, but it was an impressive debut last for Humphrey in 2015.

What we’d like to see: While he has the speed and size to keep up with receivers down the field, Humphrey loses far too often at the catch point and that led to too many big plays (opponents averaged 15.5 yards/reception throwing his way, even excluding a fluke 73-yarder against Ole Miss). He also needs to tackle better as he missed 10 of his 52 attempts.

    1. Cordrea Tankersley, Clemson
Why he’s on the list: Tankersley will be coveted by teams looking for long corners as he uses his 6-foot-1 frame extremely well in press coverage. His evaluations will vary based on scheme, but a big year could help him make an Eli Apple-like move toward the top of the draft.

What we’d like to see: Like many long corners, Tankersley has some issues with shiftier receivers and he can get grabby at the top of routes. Improving both of those issues will increase his versatility in the evaluation process.
