What about those years in between? Might as well argue we haven't improved at all since our 2008 season.

We HAVE improved over the last 2 years. Next year will be the real test.

Ok. We've improved since Whisenhunt. Hardly saying much.

And again, it's hard to tell if you've improved when you're playing weak teams.

All fair points. However, I think letting Munchak go was a need. We just got unlucky with Whiz. It did lead to MM8 and Jrob who has proven well so far.

It's all relative, at the start of the year we were considered a weak team as well. We have improved, run game is better, OL is better which is helping Mariota. So yeah we have improved.
We are at 6-6 coming off our bye, where many had us finishing at 5-11 or 6-10

Big difference to the way this year is shaping up to the way Munch's 2013 team finished. You can't just look at the final record.

We were never really in the discussion as a PO team. Sure we finished 7-9in 2013, but How did we get there?

After starting the season 3-1, the Titans only won 2 of the next 10 games and fell to 5-9. We got what basically amounted to 2 garbage time wins in week 16 and 17 against the 4 win Jags and 2 win Texans to finish 7-9.

That is hardly the same as a team that starts out slow, and picks up as the season goes on to finish 7-9.

Let's not forget that Munchak was also given a choice. He wasn't fired outright, he was asked to make some staff changes and he refused to do so. At the same time, I believe Munchak could have kept us in the 5-8 win category which sucks worse than being terrible. Atleast we were able to build a team with great talent.

Really? So we are mathamatically eliminated from winning the division if Jags don't beat the Texans? Pretty sure if we have more wins then the Texans, they DON'T win the division, right?

If you had bothered to use Math, you would understand these things better;)

Point was that Grey and a couple of others love Browning and were willing to dump Mariota and draft Browning already after some solid outtings. Now that Browning has more than fallen back to earth, was just asking them what they think of him now.

We would never draft Browning next year even if he was available. Mariota has made big strides this year!!!

I think this will be a great test for both teams on BOTH sides of the ball. Can the Titans pound the ball and be an unstoppable force against a statistically weak rush D? They will load the box so we will see how our WR corps does against one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Does Matthews continue what he's been doing? Does KW make an impact? Has Sharpe taken the next step? We are going to find out a lot about the quality of our WR corps in this game. If they struggle, then Mariota is gonna have a BIG problem if we can't run at will on these guys. He will not be able to just hold the ball for a few more secs waiting for our WR's to break free with Denver's pass rush! The one BIG problem (outside of running the ball) for Denver is DW. Will they put Talib on him? I would in obvious passing downs...which means we need to be productive on 1st down! Best place to get chunk plays to DW!!!

Our D will have a great test as we are in the same boat we've been in all year. Our Secondary is overmatched with their WR's so can our pass rush get their fast enough and make Trevor uncomfortable? Can we shutdown their rush attack without committing 8 in the box. Keeping 2 S's back will help our coverage a lot! But I didn't like how Howard got chunk runs against us. If that happens again, we will be left praying our pass rush can get there!!! It'll be a good test for Denver to see which offense shows up? The one that has struggled and relied on their D to win games or the one that passed all over and pretty good KC secondary last week?

By all rights, this is as close to a must win game as we'll have. Our path is beat Denver, beat Jags, beat Texans. Lose to Denver and all 3 remaining games are must win or just about unless we get some extreme help!
