    Oversaturation is real.

I always hated the idea of the Thursday night games outside of Thanksgiving. Screws up fantasy football lineups and the matchups are generally terrible because not even team deserves to be on during primetime.

The best thing the NFL had going for it for a long time was the scarcity of the product. 16 games over 17 weeks and it was on two days a week.

Many of the above answers are true, but the statement about the Titans is my main reason. They have taken the wind out of my sails. Years and years of pathetic football leaves me no reason to even keep up with the rest of the league. Even our own division is miserable. The Texans had about 60 yards passing last night and we couldn't beat them. If we ever return to a playoff caliber team it might get some people back. I can't speak for everyone, but other sports are in decline too. Nascar, NHRA, Indy - most all motorsports are suffering. There is just too many other things out there. I have a friend that doesn't even watch TV anymore - just Netflix. Even with franchising players teams have little identity anymore. 20 years ago you could name 10 players on about any team. Now if you know 3 or 4 you are doing good. It just feels like our hired guns are playing your hired guns.

Look what ESPN is doing with college. You can get a game so many nights now it's crazy. And the weekends....good grief. From 11 am until 2 am the next day. Did anyone see where ESPN laid off 300 people? That says a lot.

Commercials are getting hard to tune out. I mute the tv, need an auto mute. Last night there were commercials if a team huddled up. They kept the camera on field but superimposed a commercial graphic with ad commentary. Invent the auto mute and retire.

I know this thread is about eyeballs on TV but I am almost 100% certain I will be letting my PSL go at the end of this year. Takes ALL DAMN DAY to attend a game and I seem to be more interested in winning than the front office, coaching staff or players.

I could sleep in till 1150 scratch my arse turn on Frank & Mike and watch the game and be doing something else by 3 as opposed to getting up at 7 and not getting back home till 6 and then unloading & getting cleaned up & its a solid 12 hours out of a sunday. Just not worth MY TIME anymore.

I will still attend some games, but they will be of my choosing and convenience.

Will I regret this in 5 years - maybe

but I might be dead in 5 years who the F knows but I will be gaining literally a hundred hours of sundays and more than 1 vacation day every year till then.

I blame the ineptitude of the front office for killing the golden goose.

It's getting so bad I actually tape games so I can just FF through them. I do this on other TV shows too. And I would like to kill the azzhole that started putting the station logo in the corner of the screen. Now they are huge, and not only is the logo there, but sometimes an ad for an upcoming show too. Sux.

My friend kept his, and he can't wait to see the home schedule every year to find a game or two where he can sell his tickets to offset the cost. He will continue to do this until the Titans win again. I don't blame him.

    My thoughts by number:
    1. This league wide, not just in Tennessee. And there are terrible teams all the time
    2. Not the first election and debates only conflicted with two games. Ratings are down on more than just two games
    3. Price point? We are talking ratings, not stadium attendance
    4. Nothing new here, that has been going on for years, why are ratings dropping now
    5. Not that new, been popular a while yet ratings dropping now
    6. Maybe though not the first year without an interesting narrative
    7. Peyton is the only major QB to leave this season and the franchise RB has been gone a long long time
    8. Every season in the NFL is "Injury riddled"
    9. Could be though this is speculation until we see data that FF participation is down

And we keep ignoring the elephant, the one thing clearly different this year

Thursday Night football needs to go away. If player saftey is important, making guys play two games 5 days isnt a good idea, and the product usually sucks.

Too much disparity in competition. I think the NFL does the best it can in scheduling though.

I watch all sports and u find myself watching less NFL as well.

And a bunch of entitled millionaires running their chops about something they have no idea about isnt helping.
