WR's from Oregon just aren't appealing to me.

Wide receivers are ranked according to DYAR, or Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement. This gives the value of the performance on plays where this WR caught the ball, compared to replacement level, adjusted for situation and opponent and then translated into yardage.

    Sharpe: 8 Catch % 56
    Douglas: -22 Catch % 44
    Matthews: -17 Catch % 56
    Johnson: -13 Catch% 33

    Texans

    Hopkins: 43 Catch% 59
    Fuller: 31 Catch % 48

    Eagles
    DGB: 8 Catch % 70

I doubt we have 2 first round picks next year.
I suspect JRob is going to go into wheeler-dealer mode and trade one of them away for a nice haul of 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks, and maybe another 1st rounder in 2018.

Then he will trade away 1 of our 2018 1st round picks.

We've "tried draft after draft" to get a #1 WR with mid-late round picks and second round projects. I'm of the opinion we gotta take a swing with a high 1st at some point. Sure we took Kendall at #20 but I don't think anyone bought him as a potential #1 WR from the get go. I know I didn't.

Just look at the guys who are consistently wrecking the league over the years:

    Julio Jones, 6th overall
    AJ Green, 4th overall
    Andre Johnson, 3rd overall
    Calvin Johnson, 2nd overall
    Larry Fitzgerald, 3rd overall
    Odell Beckham, 12th overall

Yeah it's a gamble, as are all draft picks, but it's the best way to go about finding a legit stud WR imo. Unless you wanna pay out the ass for a big name FA. And even then there are no guarantees. If the plan is to hope we find an Antonio Brown in the 6th we're probably gonna be waiting awhile.

He's a great and nice talent. Arguably the best receiver in Oregon history but he is a headcase. Oregon probably could have used him a couple years ago against Ohio State. Wasn't there when they needed him most.

That's true. When we do draft that high, we're in need of a QB.

I feel like this upcoming draft is the time to get a franchise WR with 1 of our 2 first round picks. I'm the one who believes you can get quality WR's in the later rounds that could eventually be that #1 WR. But it's time for this team to finally get someone that's capable of being a legit WR that can open things up for us.

Ridiculous that it's only week 4 and we are in discussion about next years WR's.
