I was hoping the Titans would hire him... But we are stuck with Mularkey for a few years now.

A name to look out for Sean McVay if only he was older. A lot of hype around this guy that he could be the youngest NFL head coach. Well respected by coaches and his players.

Not only is the team still paying for Whiz, they are still playing for Munch as well. PK wrote an article on that when they hired MM and said that definitely had part in the decision. That the team probably felt it needed to clear dead salaries from past coaches before they went after someone who would probably command top dollar.

Interestingly enough though, if we end up with a top 5 draft pick again do you pull the plug?

Yeah but Tebow was picked on the back end of the 1st round after they traded back, picked up extra picks, then back up. In a draft where QBs were limited. It may have been a bad pick, but nearly every team reach on QBs. Shoot look at the Rams this year?!?! I never define an entire draft based on one pick. Not too mention a lot of people was on Tebow's N** sack when he came out. Very similar to Johnny Football.

I think it's very possible depending on how it plays out.

Despite being 1-2, the Titans have been in the both losses. I still think the Titans win vs. the Vikings if Mariota doesn't collapse. But that's like saying the Titanic would of made it to New York had it had not hit an iceberg.

By now, Trader Jon has left a positive impression on Strunk. If Underwood feels that Mularkey is holding this team back, I think he'd advise Strunk that the change should be made.

As much as I hate Mariota having to learn three offenses in as many seasons, making the change in '17 is better than '18. If they think he's the future, then you want him to play out his rookie contract under the same OC.

C'mon Jeff, we haven't lost to the Cows yet. Let us bask in our rare >25% win ratio while we can.

It was widely reported that Mularkey is cheap (I'd bet he's the lowest paid coach in the NFL) and that AAS wanted to save money because she's already paying Whisenhunt a bunch.

He is the lowest performing coach too.

Bad enough to have to fire your coach in midseason, so you want some continuity so you do the least amount of damage. Mularkey made some positive changes last year, and I believe the thinking was that by bringing in Jrob he would make things better, and at least give him a chance. I still can't believe we were starting a RT that isn't even on the team anymore. Some talent evaluation.
