The family tree leans that way. I would not object.

Josh Mc-Dan-iels! Clap. Clap. Clap, clap, clap. Now cue the idiot who thinks JRob will for some reason give away his powers of GM to the coach that he hires and says, BUT HE DRAFTED TEBOW SIX YEARS AGO

It has nothing to do when giving up power, it's all about chemistry. How is a coach suppose to run a team when the coach has no say in the type of players he wants and vise versa. The GM and new coach needs to compromise on players that both fits the scheme of the coach and make-up of Robinson ideal player.

McDaniels wouldn't be the GM here and that's a big difference.

Again, that is completely irrelevant because he wouldn't be the GM here.

I have no idea where this misconception that McDaniels was the "GM". Back to my prior post the GM and McDaniels had chemistry and made combined decisions that they thought were best for the franchise. McDaniels was more of the face of the franchise then Xanders was at the time, so I could see how people could get that view. The coach is going to have input on how he thinks the team should be built, and it's the GM responsibility to act upon those decisions. To think any coach is going to come into any situation and let the GM have 100% control over personnel decisions without any input is ridiculous.

Outside of the Patriots organization McDaniels has had little success. 11-17 as a head coach. His lone season outside the Patriots organization as the Rams OC his offense was ranked dead last in points and 31st in yards. Now cue the "Belichick lines" and "3-0 with back-up QB's". Not to mention Belichick coaching tree has a combined 116-158 record excluding Jim Schwartz who was with him with the Browns which would make the W-L worst.

A new coach (unless it is Belichick) isn't going to fix a lack of talent. I just sit here amazed that we have post after post saying how bad our secondary is and our receivers are (and even MM), yet we believe that bringing in a new coach will fix these things. Your car can have a bad transmission, and you can take it to 5 different garages for opinions, but in the end, it will still have a bad transmission.

A new coach could fix things. Our secondary is terrible, yet our defense on the whole is actually doing pretty well. That's coaching.
