    as I stated earlier

    penny wise but pound foolish

    is he right - probably

but in this case, IMO, getting the $s EVENTUALLY would trump having the moral high ground. I would be more pragmatic

For Bosa, it should be about risk vs. reward.

At risk - a huge multi million dollar contract. He may not make it all at once, but the money will still be his eventually if he signs. However he is risking almost all of it by holding out. If he reenters the draft, he will not get selected nearly as high and will not make nearly as much.

The reward - he gets his money sooner, and pays less taxes ($250k), and can earn some on interest if he invests properly.

    IMO risk>>>reward.

So, articles say Bosa wanted 1 of 2 things. Either A) more of his signing bonus paid early, or B) no offset language.

According to SD, they increased the amount of his signing bonus he would get immediately to 85%, which is the most any player has gotten in the last 2 drafts, except for Wentz. It appears they offered option A). Bosa didn't take that offer.

Teams don't eliminate offset language. We've had our own unsuccessful holdouts on that issue. Rookies need to stop fighting that one.

Now, Bosa has diminished value because he won't be ready for game 1. Maybe SD is lying, but it appears they delivered on Bosa's demands. He didn't take it, and now the team is suffering.

Apparently they are trying to and he is still denying them...Only person being paid more is Wentz.......Is that wrong?

Thing is....You will get paid if you get out there and perform and keep your head in the game....I am all for guys wanting to earn what they are worth, but as far as I know, SD hasn't DRASTICALLY screwed him with offers...Awfully arrogant for a guy that likely shouldn't have went top 10 let alone top 5, and has never played against NFL competition. I didn't like it when Eli did it, and I don't like it now.

Both sides are losing the longer this plays out.

Sign the damn paper work and get your millions. Perform on the field and you'll get paid even more. Even if he gets hurt, he still gets his money that was guaranteed to him.

Career ending injuries can happen in a blink, Bosa is owed his bonus now, not in March or whenever SD wants to differ it to

so what's the difference in him getting 100% of his money this year than the 85% they are offering him money wise? We talking about 1-2 millions or a few hundred thousands?
