Really worried that this foot surgery will hurt his chances of making an impact in year one. People already sorta questioned this pick, we don't need an underwhelming rookie season as well. I don't want much, but 4-5 sacks in a reserved role would be nice.

Dodd was a monster at Clemson last year....Came on really strong, and he has a big frame. Mix him up with Orakpo and Morgan and he could be nasty.

I would have liked the Dodd pick if we were a 4-3 defense, because he was a terror in the National Championship game. But I have concerns about a 280 pound dude trying to drop into coverage when necessary.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah...I think it was a matter of adding depth to that spot behind Rak and Morgan. Smith and Jack were WAAAAAY too risky considering they need to win now. He was the next best thing, and at one point, a 1st round projected pick. I don't hate it, but I see what you mean. I think he will be just fine though.

granted this is a little separate than an individual whom the thread is about...

but who does everyone see making our linebacker 53? who just barely gets cut? and who are obvious just-over-night-stays?...

Dodd on PUP. No surprise to me.

A stress fracture even before the first NFL snap is not a good sign for durability/longevity.

    Ditto.

I have no complaints on him getting to the QB or stopping the run. My only complaint is him being able to drop back in coverage.

He looks like he could be a helluva 4-3 end.

If we use him right, we could have a stud. He's definitely an interesting prospect.

This. Hope they keep Wallace. Bass was alright last season but I rather go with the rook.
