Reading Sony has greenlit a sequel, already.

Huh... guess the movie will breakeven or make some money. Gambling on a franchise - which Sony sucks at.

Name all their franchises... then name their good ones!

Give Bay all this **** you want, god knows I have, but had Bay done Ghostbusters it would have looked really impressive.

I think the fact that 5 kinda sucks* makes this all the more interesting. Adds a whole other layer of emotional value to that scene. And the fact that this movie is the "replacement Jason" installment it adds a wink and a nod to the last scene of the video.
To be honest, to me 5 was the last kinda good one. They keep the original stylings and score the same thru that. It was with next film (which everyone loves for some reason) that they added in the downright silly factor to those flicks..

They stopped being in the "good film" business a long time ago. Their best stuff seems to be existing productions that they purchase..

I watched it about six times last night.
If you know that scene from Friday The 13th V then it's pretty easy to connect to the story he's telling there. I think the guy did a brilliant job.
She was older - now she's a child. The narrator has loved that girl since he was a child (lord knows I did!) but in the end he loves Jason more. He even becomes Jason and she's gotta die (which is a theme from that period of the F13 series).

And how weird is it that our crush - the actresses real name from the old movie is Debi Sue Vorhees and she has the most noted boobs in the entire series..

I recently went through the whole series. I do prefer 6 over 5. 4 might be my favorite.

Ugh - I hate 6 more and more as I go thru the series.
They ditched the music in that one and replace it with that silly 80's trumpet bit - which for some reason they keep for the rest of the original series.
All the movies prior had the echoey chimes and big 70's symphonic buildups.
They also stop the white-out death scenes in 6.. argh!

In order 1, 3, 4, 2, and 5 would be mine - and 5 with a bullet now that this video has got my interest up again..

It's kinda tough for me to rank them. I can find flaws in all of them. And I think some of the dumber ones are actually more fun to watch.

It is funny watching them so close together and seeing the progression of Jason. In 2 (and maybe 3?) he's just a dude running around with a sack over his face. Couple of films later he's basically an indestructible zombie.

That Jason goes to Manhattan movie is beyond turrible, but my new least favorite is the one where he's jumping bodies. They tried, and failed.
The space one is surprisingly better than both of those..
The setting has a lot to do with it as well. NJ/CA installments felt right, but when they moved shooting to Georgia and Alabama it never seemed correct.
Have you watched Sleepaway? I forget..
