Let's be honest about this RB.

I have always thought this guy was an awesome RB.

Do you think this guy had a chance to be the best RB ever? I sat back this weekend and watched a lot of Titans vs Jags games.

I don't care what some may think about me on this site, but I seriously think Fred Taylor would've been the best RB to play the game if he stayed injury free. Dude was unreal.

What are your thoughts about Fred Taylor? I know since he was a Jag, he won't get high reviews on this forum, but again, this dude was unreal.

I think if Jacksonville would have been in the NFC where Fragile Fred only played the Titans every 4 years then you might have something to argue about. But I am not certain FT ever finished a game against the Titans so based on what I saw he was not at all impressive

He was probably the most underrated player in the NFL during his era.

Ray Lewis said he was the best RB in the league.

Went to UF and played for the Jags. What is there to like about him?

That's the issue. He was always hurt. Had he not be so injury prone, he would've been one of the best to play the game.

I remember him at Florida too. FT was on a different level when healthy.

    Underrated, due to injuries.

We once had a division with Fred Taylor, E James, and Eddie George.. Wow. Probably the best RB trio EVER in a division. But I will admit that Taylor was the one that would've been the BEST if not for injuries. His style of running was unreal. Hated playing against him.

Even Domanick Davis/Williams had his couple years in the sun at the same time. Taylor was traded for Jones-Drew who I also think in the big scheme of RB may be underrated but due to the "magic age of 30" and the cost, his career was shorter than some of the greats.
Fred Taylor was excellent and we could argue Bo Jackson as one of the greatest if not for his injury as well, although a much smaller sample size, but that's the way history is. Injuries get no free pass on the list of greats. Could say the same for Gale Sayers (and some do)

I didn't mean physical trade between Taylor and Jones-Drew before anyone misunderstands that.

Health is part of the game.

Personally, my most under-rated is Curtis Martin.
