The FB In Mularkey's Offense

Does Fowler play on FG and XP? I'm looking at stats and see 88 total kickoffs from TD (either for or against) 32 additional kickoffs for beginning of game and half time, and Kern punted 88 times, that's 208 Special Teams plays.
His 149 offensive plays is around 15% of the entire offensive season (149/976).
Either way, I get the argument that a 4th rd pick should be used for a players that should be used more, but he was a rookie, so time will still tell his value and sometimes it's tough to find those special teams standouts.

EDIT: I obviously missed at least one XP, his 2 pt conversion attempt argued earlier. Add 5 more 2 pt attempts, brings total ST snaps to 213, unless he is also playing on FG, XP or Punt coverage.

 

BREAKING NEWS: Ruston Webster was a bad GM!

Like it's been said before, don't blame the player for him being reached on. I love him as a player and think he can be a great asset on Special Teams and as a versatile lead blocker/receiver out of the backfield. He had a great TD catch last year as well that no one seems to talk about.

I was there for that play where he got stuffed on the 2pt conversion. What everyone fails to remember is that we ran that exact same play earlier in the game with him on 4th down and he got it. It's not his fault that we only had 1 short yardage play and that we telegraphed the hell out of it. It was poor coaching from Whisenhunt for not having something to play off that earlier success. A play action to the FB and then a boot from Marcus would have been the best play in that situation by a mile, but we had a sorry coach.

I'm also not blind to seeing that a FB in the 4th is definitely a reach, but what can we do about that now? Nothing, he's on the team. Webster is fired. Move on people.
