Great Lady and Basketball Coach. 8 national Championships, 1098 wins, 100% graduation rates from players.

In my opinion, she did more for womens sports than anyone else. Sure, female athletics is not as thrilling as mens athletics, but her work has helped provide role models to young women who would like to grow up and being a professional athlete.

Heard an awesome story her yesterday. She was being interviewed by a male sports broadcaster and he was speaking negatively about womens basketball. Coach Summit invited him to a game. He came and after word he asked her why she had invited him there. She asked him if he had daughters / nieces in his family. He replied that we did. She told him "Those little girls need a role model and it cant be you."

I dont have much to say in the way of women's basketball, but here in Connecticut where basketball is everything it was always nice to see my home state team doing big things on TV.

I was always quietly cheering for the lady Vols, and yes it is indeed sad seeing dementia win vs such a great person.

RIP, one story I've heard about her was a new coach at a different program asked her for advice on how to coach/teach women. Her response was "go back and coach/teach basketball"
