Ben Stiller comedy has run its course. It's time for him to only do more serious roles.

Like I said, a decade too late. My gripe is people who hold the original Zoolander on this pedestal, who then thought the sequel was absolute trash. I just don't get what they were expecting. IMHO the sequel wasn't all that different from the original. Yes the script was noticeably weaker but it was the exact same type of humor. Rarely is a comedy sequel script ever as good as the original.

Dont get the idea of doing sequels ages after the original like Zoolander or Dumb and Dumber. They're not movies worth a sequel and the magic is so far gone.

And let's be honest, comedies getting popular really do just catch lightning in a bottle. I don't think anyone expects a comedy to do as well as Zoolander, Anchorman, or Dumb and Dumber did.

The originals of these comedy movies are always better, but like Gunny said, don't try to make a sequel a decade and a half later if you do indeed decide to do one. Only in action and science fiction movies have I found sequels that are better than the original like Aliens > Alien. I started to do the first 2 Rambo's but damn they are both really good.

I tend to go easier on comedies than other genres when rating/reviewing them. My main objective when watching a comedy is to laugh. And that can sometimes be accomplished even with a stupid story and weak script. E.G. Zoolander 2. I laughed enough time to consider watching it worth my time. Will I ever watch it again? No.

I watched the Entourage movie today. Being a fan of the show I really liked the movie. It was nothing special, just a really long episode of the show, basically.

I would have liked a little more of a story for Turtle other him meeting Ronda Rousey.

    Perfect Example: Army of Darkness

A lot of times I would question why I found something in that movie funny, despite how stupid it was.

    X-Men: Apocalypse

    3 out of 5 stars

I went in with an open mind and left with a "meh" kind of feeling. The Apocalypse they created just wasn't what I was expecting, but I give them a B for at least trying to make him someone we recognize from the past. I honestly would of been alright if they went the Thanos route and completely CGI'd the dude. The script was exactly the doomsday kind of story everyone expected. It did have more than the occasional laugh which was nice.

I will definitely buy the movie when it comes out on DVD but I am still questioning if it was worth the $45 we paid to see it last night.

On comedy sequels- for whatever reason comedies hold more of an untouchable nostalgia. Maybe it's because people saw the first when they were young and everything was an easier joke?

But there's hardly much difference at all between most of them. So people acting like they loved one and hated the other... it's just odd.
