With the 222nd pick of the 2016 Draft: UCLA LB Aaron Wallace

It's easy to say that after everything is said and done. At the time theres absolutely no way to know that either of those guys would be there at #15. Looking back on the draft it's obvious we were going after a nasty, mauling run game. Conklin is definitely the best as far as that goes and RT was a gaping hole.

We went after the guy we had rated the highest at that spot and had an opportunity to get there with the Browns. Other teams might not have been willing to move. Or asking for more. It's impossible for us to know. You take the opportunities in front of you at the moment it's available. You don't get to wait and see how everything works out and then rewrite things to benefit you.

What happens if we wait around and Conklin and Decker are gone? We have to settle for someone we really didn't want. That's not a good outcome either.

 

If we sat at 15 and Conklin went off the board at 10 to the Giants then we really have to worry about the Lions trading up in front of us to grab Decker. It was a certainly a calculated move by JRob and we all hope it pays off. All we know is that JRob got the guy that he wanted.

 

I read somewhere that this guy could end up being one of the biggest steals in the draft. Definitely has a lot positive remarks about him.

 

Just about each prospect we drafted had positive remarks about them..an underrated draft for sure

 

Looks like a project to me :( probably will not play much unless players are really tired or someone gets injured.

 

He could be in the early rotation. I'll try my best to find that article. It was actually a reliable source.

 

How is it "underrated" if every news outlet says we had possibly the best draft?

 

Is this really a thing?

I'd expect media outlets to give us a C (fair) at best.

 

It hasn't been every news outlet.. But especially when it comes to gotitans.com.. If people took a bit more time to understand each pick they would see why we had a very good draft..

 

Pretty much everyone gave us an A and said we had the best draft.

Everyone had us in the top 5.

Means nothing though.
