    Good point.

I also question whether or not our scrub coaching staff would be able to execute their plan, even if it wasn't riddled with the holes I outlined above.

I definitely think Billings has a better chance to develop into a full-time player than Johnson. I thought we needed a NT, but I just didn't like that we went with Johnson over Billings.

There is so much more to becoming an effective pass rusher in the NFL than how many sacks you had in college. For example, Vernon Gholston had 22.5 sacks in two years at Ohio State. Clay Matthews had 5.5 his entire career at USC. My issue lies with the fact that teams didn't see Billings as anything more than a two-down player. Based off of the tape that I saw on both players, if the Titans didn't take Johnson in the 2nd round, it is possible that he could've been there for our 5th round pick.

No way Johnson was sitting there in the 5th...Billings got the "label" of being a 1 down guy at the draft....Johnson did not. He would have been taken by the 3rd IMO

With 2 good backs, a good fb, 2 good blocking tes, pretty good blocking wrs, a much improved oline and an upgraded staff, i say a smash mouth approach is the way to go. Mm8 is his best on pa and in short/midrange throws. Imo, this new plan on o is going to greatly improve our team.

I think the smash mouth style is the easiest for a young team to figure out. When McNair was around, the game still revolved around George getting the ball. This style is simplistic and when done right can be very effective and lead to team success. I do think we need more pieces. As was pointed out, the Defense needs to be a lot better.

Does our 4th round fullback Fowler play a role in this "exotic smash mouth " ? To what extent do you think? thoughts?

He should get all the goal line carries.

He got labeled as a two-down defender, actually. Also, you don't know where other teams valued Johnson. If the Titans go with Billings, we would've never known that other teams didn't value him until the 4th round. The same can be said for Johnson. That doesn't make me right.. I'm just saying. Billings flashed way more potential to me than Austin Johnson. We will find out in a couple years, and if I'm wrong.. I'll have no problem saying I was wrong.

I really wish they would've addressed ILB. I'm personally not a fan of Spence, Palmer, or Staples. Williamson is decent and Woodyard is a playmaker, but he is also 30 years old. With his size, once he starts to lose his speed, he will start to lose effectiveness.
