He did put up 1000 yards one year, he obviously can be productive. Like others have said, circumstances haven't been that great lately.

I suspect he will be a lot better this year with more help, and a year of chemistry building with MM.

The passing game did suffer while he was out this year.

Has any rookie ever been extended 2 years into a 4-year rookie contract?

That is no chance of that happening. The absolute earliest DGB will get extended is after 3 more seasons.

Third season- going into it. Probably. Those cheap contracts are nice to have but if he shows out its worth getting him a contract that we can front load a "signing bonus" to his low price tag.

Often it's the player that doesn't want to sign those early contracts

Often? I think it's always. I can't recall a single player that has been extended only 2 seasons into his rookie deal since the new CBA was put in place in 2011. And I'm not talking about the Titans, I'm talking about the entire NFL.

I could be wrong here. Please point out any examples you have.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but with the type of deals players like Marvin Jones just got, I doubt Wright would want an extension. I would completely expect him to want to test the open market first.

Actually under the new CBA rules, they can't renegotiate until AFTER season 3.

"The new contracts are structured so no rookie can renegotiate his contract in his first three seasons, no matter how Russell Wilson-ish he was. (A built-in escalator system provides a little fourth-year relief for mid-round picks like Wilson who become superstars)." ---

My mistake. I thought it was 2.

I let him play out this season then walk. Matthews is just as good as KW. We can take another outside WR in the draft next year with one of our 2 1sts or 2 3Rds

We only have DGB, Mathews and Douglas, now Sharpe under contract after this year. I'd like to see Wright extended personally. Think he is a great #2/slot guy. I could see himself over valuing himself though.

Looking at the deals Sanu and the other Bengels WR got though... Thats crazy money. and I think Wright is better then both of them.

If Wright does get re signed then he will probably get avg money unless he balls out this year then he might get a nice contract.

I'd give him $5M a year, hes about the same as Matthews who we just gave $5M a year to

That way you have WR covered for the next few years.

Of course he also needs to produce this year.

700 yards and 8 or more TDs is what I have to see tho.
