Titans decline 5th year option on Warmack

    He started out well. That entire team tanked. 3-8 in their final 11 games.

    I just watched that video and if he "lined up at LT at times" and "it's pretty even split watching later in" then Michigan State most have had well in excess of 100 offensive snaps, because I saw only a couple time he lined up at G and that was in a tackle over formation...

    I thought he got moved backwards too much for my liking and worry about his feet being heavy, but for a RT he might do fine.

    Regardless, there have been very, very few Titans picks that I've been wrong about on either side.

    I thought Hunter would be better than he is. Was wrong there.

    Few other instances.

    Mel Kiper said he thinks that Conklin will compete at LT, and could play there, but will probably ultimately land at RT.

    we'd be dumb to rock the boat, let Lewan settle in at LT, he's close to being the guy we picked him to be, and have the physical Tackle be the RT

    Warmack's option was declined because it would have made him one of the highest-earning offensive lineman in the NFL next season. Pretty common sense move to turn that down. I could still see them negotiating an extension but we'll see.

    When I read that, I got the feeling he knew nothing about the Titans OL and didn't realize Lewan was already at LT. Seemed like a blanket statement from him to me.

    Edit: oh, and I'm glad JR turned down the option. Np No way Warmack deserves that money. Let him play the season, and resign him to the cap friendly deal he's "earned", if he's even retained. I don't hate him as a player, but he's nowhere near his draft slot. I'm hoping that having a real center, and hopefully a real RT surrounding him elevates his game.

    On the flip side of the money issue, he simply isn't that good. What we are witnessing is the start of garbage being thrown out or pushed to the curb. A new era is upon us.
