Do you coach in the NFL, or scout for them?

I think Ogbah only succeeds in a 4/3 defense as a rush end.

Geez, I can't believe how many short sighted comments on Dodd there are here. He has elite pass rush ability as a down DE in Nickel packages....the thing that NFL defenses now spend about 70% of their time in.

He'll have time to pick up being a full time starter as an LB, but I expect him to contribute right away as a down pass rusher. That can't be said for all rookies. He absolutely has a starting spot already and I expect him to be a great asset from the start.

Some times in the vid you can see him look at the ball- sometimes he staring at the tackle. Waiting for the tackle to move is the read- and often makes the "off the line" speed look slower than perhaps a ball snap which is a pass rush read primarily.

The ting I like about these picks is they are scheme diverse. Dodd can play hand down in a nickel package, standing up in base, Austin can play NT, 3T and 5T... Should be interesting to see

100% agree. Dodd gives us the much needed depth behind Morgan and Orakpo on the outside, but hopefully his major contribution this year is coming in on passing downs when we go 4 DL. I could easily see him sliding inside to the DT position on passing downs taking Klugs place. Morgan, Dodd, Casey, and Orakpo has our pass rush unit in 3rd down situations...Casey and Dodd both jumping gaps and Morgan and Orakpo coming off the edge.

Everybody drafts somebody, because they think they have a use for them, or that they'll be the player they want. It usually doesn't turn out that way. For the Titans, I already said they think he can be an every down starter - it's why they drafted him.

Yaaa.. guess i just really like the 4-3 better haha, i think both players will succeed in the pros though.

I'm going to trust Robinson and LeBeau on the Dodd pick. He was a man possessed in that national title game. 13 sacks last season is nice. He's a nice player. Versatile skill set as a pass rusher. Decent enough speed, converts it well to power, and has very violent, active hands that are always working to disengage.
