Since when does winning the Heisman equal being a good NFL player? More importantly when is the last time an Alabama RB did anything in the NFL, Eddie Lacy, TJ Yeldon, Trent Richardson?

If we need a RB next year why not one with one of our multiple first rounders we have?

I support the pick because I trust JR (at least for now) but I'm with you, I liked Decker enough to stay put and I even like him better as a player.

Except we didn't do that. This was likely the plan ever since we traded the 1st pick. We liked Conklin a lot, but he wasn't worth the 1st pick. We fielded offers for the pick, but ultimately the Rams offer was too good to pass up. But at 15, Conklin likely is gone. So you know you'll need to trade back into the top 10 in order to get him.

It's also possible they had a deal in place with the Ravens before the draft in order to take Tunsil/Stanley, but the Tunsil situation threw a wrench into that scenario.

Do you prefer that scenario if Decker isn't as good as Conklin and ends up getting Mariota hurt? Having picks is great but the point of picks is to get the best players. If the Titans believe that Conklin is the best or second best tackle in the draft you make a move to get him. We still have a lot of picks left and we got the guy that we wanted the most. That's a huge win imo.

This was the guy we wanted all along. Even when we had the #1 overall pick imo. Traded back with the rams with the intention that we would go up and get this guy. Maybe the deal was a little better without the Tunsil shenanigans but thats the unpredictable-ness of the draft for you.

Particularly this draft, where I think the ~12-50 picks are all evenly rated about the same. An extra mid third round pick isn't too much to give up for to move up into the "upper-tier" of players especially when we have so much draft capital to use.

We held onto the three seconds (and first third) this year, also have an extra first and third next year. I think we're still winning the draft by far.

Should Robinson maybe have traded with the Eagles instead of the Rams? Ended up having to surrender picks to move back up to 8, the Eagles' spot.

Never know. They could have been interested and didnt want to give up that much. Once we traded, It pushed the Eagles hand and the Browns took advantage
