There's no panic. We all knew how it was going to play out when we moved back. It was going to be a tackle all day. What we didn't know was that we'd totally overpay to move back up and that we'd grab the fourth best OT(in my mind).

Shon Coleman in the second round would have been significantly better value and would not have cost us three picks.

as was said earlier Webster would have sat tight and taken Tunsil #1

so, yeah the 2017 2 hurts a little (esentially a 2016 third IMO), the alternatives could have been worse and if Conklin is 'Runyon-like' then it dont matter that a future 2 was lost.

Let's see: I loved Leveon Bell and said he was the best RB in the draft. I liked Kirk Cousins. Even liked Javon Ringer.

    So... nope.

I also love Michael Thomas from OSU. And say while Zeke is nothing special, he's the best RB in this draft and definitely better than Derrick Henry. Also was on the Bosa train earlier this offseason....

So no. Usually when rival players graduate, I couldn't care less about where they went to college.

I'm not thrilled with what we gave up, I was ok with the 15th and 76th pick and when I heard we gave up a 2nd rounder in 2017 I was pissed. Conklin is a good player and to me none of the OT's in the 2nd round or later could start day 1.

We are better right now than we were 4 hours ago, and we still have 3 picks early tomorrow and 2 1st's in 2017.

Watch Conklin play against Buckner and Ohio State if you haven't already. This dude can more than hold his own.

I wasn't all that high on Buckner either.

What I see in Conklin is a guy who was a walk-on because he was athletically limited with slow feet, and leans/reaches. That's not a premium player at the position. Is he as bad as Poutasi was with those things? Not even close, but he's not special. He's not the kind of guy you trade up to get. If he's there at 15 then great. If he's not then you take the next best guy at the position or go somewhere else.

Everyone makes the Jon Runyan comparison. Jon Runyan was the same kind of player but was taken in the fourth round. Same with David Stewart.

Somewhere along the line this organization changed philosophies. We had two high round picks on the offensive line for about 18 years: Brad Hopkins and Michael Roos. The other starters were mid round picks. Suddenly, we just started throwing endless resources at this line with no results.

I get that they might have loved Conklin. I get that RT was a position we needed to address. But I also think that there is timing for certain positions. You address blind side tackles in top 10, or skill positions (QB, RB, WR... Game changers). I think that RT's do not merit a top 10 pick.

Not to hate on Conklin, I hope he turns out to be the best tackle in the NFL, but I think that the Titans should have either taken tackle at 15, 33, 43, 45, or the Titans should have traded the number 1 pick to the Eagles and got what the Browns got.

    Titans Rams trade: Titans got 15, 43, 45, 76, and 2017 1st and 3rd.

Titans Browns trade: Browns got 15, 76, 2017 second round pick.

Titans basically got only the 45th pick and the 2017 first and 3rd to move down from 1st to 8th.

I think the Browns are the biggest winners of the draft trades even though they used their draft pick horribly tonight imo.

I've said for months that OL was going to be the pick and knew the majority here would freak out and act surprised.

Not thrilled at using a second next year for the trade...but its not the end of the world. Robinson could use one of the firsts next year to move down and pick up a second.
That would mean the Titans got the player they wanted at #8 this year plus the picks from the rams and browns this year and next. Nothing wrong with that.

    I think Robinson panicked.

He probably went into the draft expecting Tunsil and Stanley to be the first two OTs off the board.

When the bong video hit and Tunsil started falling, Robinson panicked and traded way too much to move up and make sure he got the second tackle off the board instead of the third.

It's a dumb trade. Just sit at 15 and go BPA. Hell, take Decker if you are dead-set on going OT.

Trading away a 1st, a 2nd (that one really hurts) and a 3rd for a damn RT is stupid. It's really stupid.

Yeah man. I don't hate the pick but I am already very tired of people saying "the Titans really like this guy." Remember how Munch liked Warmack and Schwenke? The Titans have liked tons of horrid players, this is not an asset to anyone.
