For 1 we need a starting caliber RT. We have 3 picks in the 2nd round for goodness sake. We shouldn't have to force ourselves to pick a RT at 15 or trade up for one. Second we lacked playmakers last year and our WR group as a whole performed just as mediocre as our OL and DB's. Outside of DGB I'm not counting on any of them stepping up to the plate and being a consistent reliable threat. That's why I'm perfectly fine taking Treadwell at 15.

We are more set at WR than we are at T. Take one w/ 1 of 3 2nd rd. picks.

Our receiver core was mediocre because of said terrible Edge sealing (T)

The Super Bowl should show you that -- you can have whatever receivers you want -- but if your bookends get eaten, you aren't throwing to ANYBODY...

You don't just take BPA - you take the B-P-A who fits your most outstanding N-E-E-D...

The good teams draft for/by value and necessity

The stupid, and basement teams draft by B-P-A alone.

Not happening bro, you think we're the only ones who covet Ramsey? Don't forget he was in the conversation as the #1 pick before the trade. Now all of a sudden people think he's gonna drop to 7-10. Lol naw

I think teams should do a mixture of both. You can't plan the draft out by positions you are going to take at what picks though.

I agree, it's strictly situational -- but to completely ignore a hemorrhage in order to band-aid a paper cut.........?

Point being if you have such players as Conklin, Decker (or Stanley) sitting there at 15, and you're looking for a foundation piece for 10 -15 years, and for millions less than the original consensus pick (Tunsil) would have cost you - you take them solely based on necessity.

Don't you think if Titans were really in love with Ramsey or Tunsil they would have stayed at 1?

I agree with your main idea; I don’t take WR at #15 because there’s a massive hole at both RT and CB. I try to find my guy for each hole at #15 and #33 in no particular order, depending how the draft goes. Trading up a few spots to get your guy is cool too. Especially if you’re getting a day 1 starter who should play for 10 years.

That said, BPA vs NEED is a different story. Years ago I’d of much rather picked up JJ Watt than Locker and find a band aid QB for the year. If that happened, Watt would still be here and our #8 pick wouldn’t have retired after 4 let down seasons.

This is the first time I’m going into a draft confident that the man making the picks actually knows what the %#*@ he’s doing. For all we know, he could take Treadwell/Doctson at #15 (I think they can be had later/trade back), starting RT in the early 20’s by packaging #43 + #45, and a CB at #33. We have no idea how this draft will unfold, it should be pretty exciting I think.
